Look into your team members interests and let those interests become opportunities.

In looking for ways to improve our costumer service of Jopus Connecter, the idea came up to create animation videos to inform current and potential users.

Videos that could provide an example of what potential users can expect before registering or as reference we could direct current users to in order to increase our level of costumer support.

There are a few options to realize this idea.

A) Hire a freelancer / agency to do the planning, concepts and creative work.
B) Look within our team

In the earlier stage we have hired an agency to create an animation video. The process was smooth with frequent review meetings and at the end, the result was great.

We could go on the same route. But instead of telling someone else about your service and have them reinterpret what you already know, we looked at ourselves, since we created the service, we understand the service in and out.

And I recalled that during one of our "look-back-and-ahead" meetings some time earlier, a member mentioned to be interested in animation and would like to be involved in a project at some time.

I thought it would be a great opportunity to have Pon-san create the animation. It doesn't require us to hire an agency, we have full control of the direction, it would be something exciting and to be proud of!

I believe Pon-san (one of our members within the design team at Goalist Vietnam) did a fantastic job and the videos where well received.

Something to take out of this is to create moments to allow your team members express their interests, listen to their ideas and dreams.

Believe in your team and you will be surprised what opportunities arise!
