One Year after the Russian Invasion in Ukraine and Its Meaning for Us

One year has passed since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022.

There may be different positions on the Ukraine Issue. Ultimately, however, the crux of the issue is whether to accept “changes to the existing order through force” or not. It seems that there is no argument for us to accept such a situation.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Issue, which seems to be a distant event for regions outside of Europe, is also the cause of the global high price of natural resources, or a decline in currencies other than the US Dollar due to “emergency dollar buying”. These things are very fresh in our memory.

In that sense, the Russian Invasion of Ukraine might be a distant event for outsiders of Europe, but it is by no means unrelated to their daily lives.

The development of the Ukraine Issue will have a great impact on the future course of international society.

For that reason, we need to continue to turn our attention to the Ukraine Issue without prejudice.
