英文法『比較級について』

英文法の比較の表現は大きく分けて３つの形があります！

比較級の文　AはBより〜
最上級の文　Aは〜の中で最も〜
原級の文　　AとBは同じくらい〜

比較級の文

基本的な形　A  be動詞 比較級 than B 

例　Ken is taller than me.            ケンは私より背が高い。
       Tom runs faster than Ken.　トムはケンより早く走る。

最上級の文

基本的な形　A be動詞 the 最上級 in(of) 〜

例　Ken is the tallest of the three.    ケンはその3人の中で一番背が高い。
　　I run the fastest in my class.      私はクラスの中で一番早く走る。

原級の文

基本的な形　A is 原級 is B 

例　Ken is as tall as Tom.       ケンはトムと同じくらい背が高い。
　　Ken runs as fast as Tom.   ケンはトムと同じくらい早く走る。

比較級・最上級への変化の仕方　大きく分けて５つ

１、通常変化
２、短母音＋子音で終わる
３、子音＋yで終わる
４、３音節以上
５、不規則変化

１、通常変化
比較級　語尾にer 最上級　語尾にest
fast　→　faster　→　fastest 

２、短母音＋子音で終わる
最後の子音を重ねる
hot　→　hotter　→　hottest

３、子音＋yで終わる
yをiに変える
early　→　earlier　→　earliest

４、３音節以上
比較級は前にmore 最上級は前にmostをつける
beautiful　→　more beautiful　→　most beautiful 

５、不規則変化
good(well)　→　better　→　best
many(much)　→　more　→　most
bad　→　worse　→　worst
little　→　less　→　least
