1. trust - Jesus promised his followers that he would go and prepare a place for them. This shows trust in God's promises. Believers are expected to believe what they cannot see and to trust what God has promised.
2. hope - This theory symbolises hope for the believer. The certainty that an eternal home in heaven is prepared for the believer in the midst of earthly suffering and difficulties is a great comfort to the believer.
3. eschatological certainty - The promise that Jesus will come again to welcome believers reflects the teaching of the Second Coming in the end times. Believers can look forward to that day, confident that Jesus will come again as he promised.
4. eternal relationship - Jesus says: ‘For where I am, there you shall be also’. This indicates that believers look forward to an eternal relationship with God and teaches that seeking an intimate relationship with God is central to the life of faith.
I pray that I will be given wisdom and strength to face the challenges of earthly life with hope in the heavenly place Jesus will prepare for me.
