市場のあちこちに
生き物から匂いがこぼれ
路地という路地には
水たまりが地面にはいつくばる

朝から酔っぱらいにからまれ
日本から来たのかと
何度も聞いた納得の仕方に
涙がこぼれる

それでも半島の人は
さっきまで怒り狂っていたはずなのに
申し訳ない顔になり
わたしを抱きしめる

チョンイッタ
情がある

きっと彼女には
わたしの涙の意味が
わかりはしない

市場と路地を通り抜けると
一昔前からそこにたたずむ家屋がある
くねくねと曲がった針金を引くと
木の扉の鍵が開く

小さな世界

刺身屋が軒をつらねる市場の通りには
水槽の中で
魚がゆったりと泳ぎ
見たことがあるようなないような物体が
浮かんでいる

いつからかここには
海辺から魚が運ばれ
人々が行き交い
にんにくやコチュヂャンとともに
刺身をたいらげ

路地をゆく
いつも迷う
どことどこがつながっているのか
途方に暮れる

それでもいつかは
どこかにたどり着くから
おそれず
気のむくままにすすむ

市場の匂いが
潮の香りにつながる

そして
時空を越えた
光の家にたどり着く

Umimiz -Light Space-

Each part of the market is overflowing
with smells from creatures,
and this alley and that alley
have different shaped puddles

on the ground.

One morning
a drunken lady tried to pick a quarrel with me
She asked me if I came from Japan.
Her way of being convinced like other Koreans
brought up my tears

Still
this lady on this peninsula
gave me a hug
with a face of sorry,
even having been in a rage a moment ago.

Jon itta
the existence of heart

She might never know
the reason of my tears.

Passing through the market and alley,
an old house has been existing for a long time.
A lock of a wooden door is opened
by pulling a winding wire.

A small world

Fish swim slowly
and
unfamiliar creatures float

in water tanks
in front of raw fish restaurants.

Fish are brought here from the sea,

eaten with raw garlic and gochujang
by people coming and going on the street.

Back alleys
I get lost in a maze

I still don't understand
which way connects where.

Any way may lead to
somewhere,
I just keep on going
without fear.

The smell of the market
connects to the smell of the tide.

And I am

arriving at the house of light
beyond time and space.
