お題 Agree or disagree:A university education is necessary in our society.

以下エッセイ

In this increasingly competitive world, the debate on whether or not possession of a university degree is an integral part of our society has fostered lively discussions among us. While there are some exceptions to this idea, obtaining a university degree is the key to unlocking many opportunities for personal and professional advancement. Given this belief, I strongly believe that a university education plays pivotal roles in our society.

One of the main reasons to corroborate my stance is that universities can provide us with a wealth of knowledge which has the potential for a personal breakthrough. The theory of second language acquisition is a case in point. In this linguistic academia, we can learn about complex rules or theories of how people acquire second languages. If you can gain comprehensive observation of the way people acquire second languages, this invaluable expertise will make a huge contribution to our greater proficiency in languages. This surely serves as a catalyst for inspiring us to learn languages, potentially resulting in our increased confidence in language learning. Additionally, with an exceptional level of competence in second languages, this ability enables us to communicate with numerous  people all over the world, thus strengthening our communication skills.

Beyond the acquisition of knowledge and skills, a university degree is an indispensable component in job hunting activities. Major companies require a university degree as a basic qualification for entry-level positions, and even for those jobs that do not have strict degree requirements, having a university education can make job candidates more attractive to potential employers. It can also be said that possession of Master's or phD serves as an essential tool for advancing our careers or deepening our expertise.

Another contributing factor for my belief is that university students are more exposed to diverse array of ideas and cultures given the situation in which many universities attach importance to cosmopolitan nature. Through such experiences at university, students can enjoy ample chances to confront their own biases or assumptions towards foreign traditions. Furthermore, the availability of discussions or daily exchanges with foreigners makes it possible for students to develop their critical analysis and increased cultural awareness, thereby leading to expansion of their perspectives.

In summary, it can be argued that a university education is necessary in our society. Although it is justifiable that whether or not we have a university degree does not have much to do with betterment of our lives, the fact that a university education is helpful in this competitive society is almost undeniable.
