【SS】おしゃべりな花

路傍に咲く可憐な花だった。

「お願い。あたしを摘んで」
そうつぶやいたような気がした。

根こそぎ抜き、家に持ち帰った。

すぐに小さな鉢に植えてやった。

「ありがとう。救われたわ」
可憐な声で花がしゃべった。

「あそこ、土ぼこりがひどかったの」

その花には表情まであった。
「踏まれる危険もあったし」


ただ黙って見つめていた。

いつまでも花はしゃべり続げた。
今年の変わりやすい天候の話。

自動車や通行人への非難。
ノラ猫とノラ犬の習性の違い。

「お水ちょうだい。喉がカラカラ」

そうであろう。
二時間もしゃべり続けていた。

「いやだ」
おれは冷たく言ってやった。

「どうして？」
「おまえはしゃべりすぎる」

「だって、黙っていられないのよ」
「枯れたら黙るしかあるまい」

「いやよ。助けて！」

花は悲鳴をあげた。
かすれた悲鳴であった。

立ち上がって部屋を出る。
台所でコップに水をくむ。

部屋に戻って花を見下ろす。

花は黙って見上げるばかり。
　

Talking Flower

It was a lovely flower that bloomed along the roadside.

"Please. Pick me."
It felt like it was muttering like that.

I rooted it out and brought it home.

I immediately planted it in a small bowl.

"Thank you. I was saved."
The flower talked with a lovely voice.

"There was a lot of dirt there."

The flower had an expression.
"There was a risk that people would step on me."

I was just staring silently.

The flower kept talking forever.
The story of the changing weather of this year.

Blame on cars and passers-by.
Differences in habits of stray cats and stray dogs.

"Give me some water. I'm thirsty."

It will be so.
It kept talking for two hours.

"I refuse."
I said cold.

"Why?"
"You talk too much."

"Because I can not shut up."
"If you die, you have no choice but to shut up."

"No, help me!"

The flower screamed.
It was a faint scream.

I stand up and leave the room.
I water the cup in the kitchen.

I go back to the room and look down on the flowers.

The flower just shuts up and looks up at me.
