【話】精霊の森

ねばつく粘菌の小川をまたいで　
マイマイハタオリの仕事の邪魔をしないように　
私はそおっと精霊の森に忍び込んだ。

日の光はセロファンの木の葉に濾過され　
不思議な色に空気を染め　
オチムシャグモの大きな巣を虹色に輝かせていた。

モライツグミの乞う声があちこちから聞える。
「チョウダイ、チョウダイ、チョウダイ」

精霊の宝なんか、私はいらない。

宝は森のどこかに隠されている
と村の古老たちは伝説を語るけど　
宝はちっとも隠されてなんかいなくて　
この森の端から端まで全部が全部　
もの凄い宝だということ　
とっくに私は知ってるから。

いつか私が死んだって
立派なお墓なんかいらない。

この精霊の森の土に
できるだけ目立たないように
こっそり埋めて欲しい。

そうしてもらえれば
こんな私でも、そのうち
きれいな宝石の一かけらくらいにはなれるだろうから。

茂みを分け入ると、広い場所に出た。

数千年も生き続けている太くて大きなノラの木の幹に
ハナクラゲが花粉を擦り付けている姿が見えた。

この浮遊する花虫の気持ち、よくわかる。

私も近寄り　
ゴツゴツした煉瓦のような幹に耳を押し当て
ノラの木の掠れたつぶやき声を
じっと息を殺して聴いていたかった。

でも今日は、日暮れ前までに薬草と薬石を
たくさんたくさん集めなくては。

森の奥深く　
アニュイの池へ続く精霊の小道を　
私は急いだ。

Spirit Forest

I straddled a staggering slime mold
and broke into the Spirit Forest
so as not to disturb the work of Weaving Snail.

The cellophane leaves filter the sunlight,
dyed the air with a mysterious color,
making the big nest of Surviving Spider shine rainbow.

I hear the begging voice of Give Me Thrush from here and there.
"Give me, give me, give me."

I do not need the treasure of the spirit.

The treasure is hidden somewhere in the forest,
the old people of the village tell the legend.

But since treasure is not hidden at all,
I know all from the end of the forest to the end
that it is tremendous treasure,
I know from the beginning.

Someday I am dead, I do not need a fine grave.

I want someone to slip me secretly
in the soil of this Spirit Forest
so as not to be as noticeable as possible.

If someone did, such a me would be able to become
a piece of pretty jewel in a while.

When I divided the bushes, I got into a wide place.

I saw Lower Jellyfish rubbing pollen on the trunk of a thick
and big Wild Tree that has been living for thousands of years.

I can understand the feelings of this floating insect pest.

I also went close and pushed my ears
against a trunk like a brittle brick,
I wanted to listen to the breathlessly stuttering
Wild Tree's tweeting voices.

But today I have to collect
a lot of herbs and medicinal stones before dusk.

In the depths of the forest,
I rushed to Path of the Spirit
which continues to Ennui's Pond.
