【SS】濡れた靴

階段を上ってゆくと、広い海原に出た。

途切れることのない水平線に囲まれ　
あまりにも日差しは強い。

私は途方に暮れるしかなかった。

「おや、お困りのようですね」
それは自転車に乗った郵便配達夫だった。

「ええ、よくわかりましたね」
「なに、配達を長年やっておりますとね」

「はあ、そういうものですか」
「そういうものです」

「なるほど」
「とりあえず、この荷台にお乗りなさい」

私は素直に自転車の荷台に乗り移った。

郵便配達専用自転車の荷台は驚くほど広く　
この上では日光浴しながら昼寝さえできそうだ。

「あなたは、自転車で海を渡るのですね」
私は声をかけてみる。

海原と比べてしまえば　
あまりにも小さな郵便配達夫の背中。

「ええ、そうですよ」

「どういう原理なのですか」
「さあ、よくわかりませんね」

「でも、不思議ですよね」
「あまり気にしないことですよ」

突然、自転車が海中に沈み始めた。

「ああ、大変だ」
「ほら、言わんこっちゃない」

「どうしたのでしょう」
「あなたが気にしすぎるからですよ」

自転車は、郵便配達夫もろとも　
難破船のように沈没してしまった。

それでも荷台だけは海面に浮かんで残り　
私は片方の靴が少し濡れた程度で助かった。

濡れた靴を脱ぎ、その内側を覗いてみる。
そこには地下へと続く階段があった。

よくわからないままではあるけれど、とりあえず　
この階段を下りるしかなさそうだ。

Wet Shoes

As I went up the stairs, I came out to a large sea.

Surrounded by an unbroken horizon,
the sun is too strong.

I had no choice but to be at a loss.

"Oh, you seem to be having trouble?"
It was a postman on a bicycle.

"Yes, did you understand well?"

"No matter what,
I have been delivering for many years."

"Oh, is that what?"
"That's right."

"I see."
"For now, get on the bike carrier."

I moved on to the bicycle carrier straightly.

The carrier for the mail delivery bike is surprisingly large,
and it seems that
I can even take a nap while sunbathing on this.

"Are you crossing the sea by bicycle?"
I called to him.

A small postman's back when compared to the ocean.

"Yes, yes."

"What is the principle?"
"Now, I do not understand well."

"But it's strange, isn't it?"
"You don't care too much."

Suddenly, the bike began to sink into the sea.

"Oh, it's hard."
"Hey, as I said."

"What happened?"
"It's because you care too much."

The bicycle sank like a wreck,
even with the postman.

However, only he carrier remained floating
on the sea surface,
and I was able to save when one shoe was slightly wet.

I take off my wet shoes and peek inside.
There was a staircase leading to the basement.

Although I do not understand well, for the time being,
it seems that I can only go down this stairs.
