福岡音楽研究所、ニューアルバム『A Few Years』リリース！

福岡音楽研究所のアルバム『A Few Years』は、「この数年間」に私が作曲した曲に、アコースティックギターでよるアレンジを加えた8曲入りのベスト盤になります。

2023年の頭にレコーディングまではこぎつけたのですが、ミキシングで非常に苦戦をしまして（苦笑）、お蔵入り状態になっていた音源をようやく解決の糸口を見つけて、リミキシング、リマスタリングを施した状態でリリースするに至りました。具体的にはコンプレッサーを一切使わないという判断に時間がかかったというわけです。

『A Few Years』とは、当初のコンセプトとしては、「コロナ5類以降」の一時の安心感から、コロナイヤーを振り返り、リラックスした音楽としてアコースティックアレンジの曲をリミックスするというコンセプトでした。ところが、厳密には2023年末になっても未だにコロナウイルスから完全に安全が確保されたわけではなく、コンセプトの変更の判断も迷ったのですが、チルアウトミュージックとして一先ずの完成を見たため、リリースするに至りました。

ちなみに、『A Few Years』とは、非常におこがましくも、ジャズギタリスト「ウェス・モンゴメリー」の傑作カバーアルバム『A Day In The Life』のようなリラックスしたカバーアルバムを作ろうと、はじめは『A Few Years In The Life』という仮タイトルでした。それだと長いので『A Few Years』にしてます。

福岡音楽研究所の『A Few Years』は、とりあえずの安心感に寄り添った、アコースティックな33分です。BandcampとCDRでリリースする予定なので、電車やバス、家のオーディオなどで、ゆったりと聴いていただけると幸いです。

On “A Few Years”

Fukuoka Music Institute's album "A Few Years" is a best-of album containing 8 songs composed by me over the past few years with acoustic guitar arrangements.

I was able to record it in early 2023, but we had a really hard time mixing it, and we finally found a solution to the sound source that had been shelved, and started remixing and remastering it. We were able to release it in the same condition. Specifically, it took us a while to decide not to use a compressor at all.

The original concept of "A Few Years" was to remix acoustic arrangements of songs as relaxing music to reflect on COVID-19 pandemic and provide a temporary sense of relief from the threat of the COVID-19. However, strictly speaking, even at the end of 2023, we still are not completely safe from the COVID-19, and we were unsure whether to change the concept, but we felt that the song was mostly completed as chill-out music, so we decided to release it.

By the way, "A Few Years" is a very presumptuous idea, but I originally tried to make a relaxed cover album like jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery's masterpiece cover album "A Day In The Life" The tentative title was "A Few Years In The Life". That would be too long, so I chose "A Few Years."

Fukuoka Music Institute's "A Few Years" is a 33-minute acoustic song that provides a temporary sense of security. We plan to release it on Bandcamp and CDR, so we hope you'll be able to listen to it on the train, on the bus, or on your home audio system.
