＃36　海外の日本アニメブーム

アニメは英語の「アニメーション」を短くした言葉で、日本人アーティストによって制作されたアニメーションを意味する言葉として世界的に使われています。日本の漫画が原作となったアニメが多く、漫画で登場した人物がテレビのアニメで映像の中で生き生きと動く姿を見ることができます。日本人の子どもたちに親しまれてきたキャラクターが今では海外でも見られるようになっていきました。日本語を学んでいる人たちの中には、アニメや漫画で日本語を知ったという方も多いのです。

Anime is  a shortened word of English word "animation" and is used worldwide to refer to animated cartoons produced by Japanese artists. Most anime are based on comics and we can see characters in comics animated on air in Japan. Now we can see those animated characters which have been popular among Japanese children overseas. Many people who have been studying Japanese say that they learn Japanese by Japanese anime or manga. 

多くのアニメ映画は子どもだけではなく大人も楽しめるように作られています。ジブリ映画や新海誠の作品は大人も子どもも楽しめて、私もほとんどの作品を子どもたちと一緒に見ています。

Not only children but adults can enjoy many animated films such as the Ghibli movies or films of Director Makoto Shinkai. I watched these films with my children. 

日本には絵巻物など、古くから物語に挿絵を加える文化がありました。日本最古の漫画と呼ばれる「鳥獣人物戯画」、「信貴山縁起絵巻」のような絵巻には動物や他の者に人間のような特徴を与えるという文化がありました。そこから漫画が発達していったと思われます。

Japan has a long tradition of adding pictures to stories, such as can be seen in the illustrated handscrolls from ancient times. The oldest known manga is the Chouju-jinbutsu-giga, or Scrolls of Frolicking Animals or picture scrolls like Shigisan-engi. Today's Japanese pop culture have its root in the tradition of giving human characteristics to animals and other objects in those scrolls. Those past illustrated handscrolls have played a leading role in the developments of manga. 

アニメ映画に出てきたロケ地を巡る聖地巡礼もブームになっています。ロケ地を訪ねてインスタグラムに写真をアップする人が増えました。私が訪れてみたいのは「もののけ姫」の舞台のひとつといわれている屋久島、あともうひとついわれている白神山地です。どちらも神様が住んでいるような幻想的な風景が見られると言うことです。

More and more people visit the particular movie locations in anime films. This phenomenon is called Seichi Junrei. Many people post the photos taken in those locations on Instagram. Personally I would like to visit Yakushima island and Shirakami mountains which is said to be the locations of the movie "Princess mononoke". It is said to be fantastic sightseeing spots. I may be able to see The Forest Spirit.
