働き方の哲学①（＋「3人のレンガ職人」の10年後とは？）

読書ノート（26日目）
今日からは新しく、この本「働き方の哲学」
からピックアップしてみたいと思います。

最近では、仕事での働き方改革だけではなく
プライベートでの暮らし方改革を含めて
「生き方改革」こそが大切と言われています。

僕自身も今の仕事では
人事×データ分析の視点から
社員が心身ともに健康で元気であり
働きやすく・働きがいのある環境整備をすることで
会社が目指すウェルビーイング経営に貢献したい。
そんな思いでこのたび転職しました。
そんな背景もあり、この本を手に取りました。

前置きが長くなってしまいましたが…
早速ピックアップしてみます。

・仕事とは「人生の時間・空間を多大に陣取る活動」
 （1日8時間×35年＝62,440時間）
・英語でoccupationの意味は仕事とも訳される。

　そうしたら誰も君を下足番にしておかぬ（小林一三）

・私は5大陸の最高峰に登ったけれど、
　高い山に登ったからすごいとか、
　という考え方にはなれない。
　山登りを優劣で見てはいけないと思う。
　要は、どんな小さなハイキング的な山であっても、
　登る人自身が　登り終えた後も深く心に残ると
　登山がほんとうだと思う。（冒険家・上村直己）

この本を読んでいたら、イソップ寓話の
「3人のレンガ職人」を思い出しました。
（様々なバリエーションがあるので
　多少の違いはあるかもしれません）

旅人が道を歩いていると
レンガを積んでいる３人の職人に出逢う。
旅人は「ここで何をしているのですか？」と尋ねる。

１人目の職人は「レンガを積んでいるのさ」と、
辛くて不公平だと不満を募らせ不機嫌そうに答えた。

２人目の職人は「大きな壁をつくっている」と、
家族を養うために仕事があって感謝している様子だ。

３人目の職人は「歴史に残る偉大な聖堂を建てている」と、
周りの幸せを願いつつ教会をイメージしていた。

そしてこの話には、続きとして
3人の職人の10年後があるとのこと。

1人目の職人は
相変わらず文句を言いながらレンガを積んでいた。

2人目の職人は
賃金は高いけど危険の伴う屋根の上で仕事をしていた。

そして3人目の職人は
現場監督として多くの職人を育て、
出来上がった大聖堂には彼の名前がつけられた。

レンガ職人の10年後の話を聞いたとき
自分はいま何番目の職人の気持ちで
目の前の仕事に向き合っているのだろうか

このスタンスで仕事を続けたら
どんな未来が待っているのか

という事を考えると、僕の場合は
やる気エンジンにスイッチが入りやすいので
今日は「3人のレンガ職人の続き」の話も
シェアさせてもらいました。

Reading Notes (Day 26)
New today, I would like to pick up from this book "Philosophy of Working.

Recently, it is said that "reform of the way of life" is what is important, including not only reform of the way we work at work but also reform of the way we live in our private lives.

In my current job, I would like to contribute to the company's goal of well-being management by creating an environment where employees are healthy and energetic both physically and mentally, and where it is easy and rewarding to work, from the perspective of human resources and data analysis.
It is with this background that I picked up this book.

Then let me pick up some.

This book reminded me of Aesop's Fable of the Three Bricklayers.
(There are many variations, so there may be some differences)

And there is a continuation to this story, 10 years later for the three bricklayers.

When I hear this story, I wonder which number of bricklayers I am now facing the work with the feeling of a bricklayer.

What kind of future awaits me if I continue to work with this stance?

In my case, it is easy to turn on the motivation engine when I think about this, so today I also shared the story of the "continuation of the three bricklayers".
