あの日もいつもと変わらず無我夢中で

鳥の群れを追いかけていたのに

モリスは急に立ち止まってしまいました

あの空はいったい何処までつづくのだろう

こんな気持ちになったのは初めてでした

モリスは鳥を追うのをやめ

鳥を食べるのもやめました

本能と衝動を抑えるほどの眩しい憧れ

モリスは普通のキツネをやめました

掟を破った裏切りギツネと

仲間がみんな去ってしまっても

モリスは少しも悲しくありませんでした

まるで生まれ変わったような歓びと

不思議な安らぎさえありました

At that day, Morris was running after a group of birds and crazy about himself as usual, but he had stopped suddenly. He thought ''I wonder how far that sky stretches out which is taking those birds...'' He felt like that for the first time.
After that Morris didn't chase a bird and also even stopped eating. His great yearning which is the seek of truth controlled his instinct and impulse of wild. So Morris quit an ordinary fox.
All of friends said ''you are the traitor who broken our rule.'' and they have left around him after that. But Morris wasn't sad at all. On the contrary, there was the great joy as if it were reborn and even a peace of mind.
