Five ways to improve your listening skills in English.

 Today, i am going to talk about five ways to imrove your listening skills in English. I watched a video from Veronica on Youtube. Let’s get started.

 Number 1. 
 Listening to podcast. 
 It sounds like super basic thing, right? But you should listen more if you want to improve listening skills. You might think you want tips to hack listening skills in English. No one knows how to ace it overnight. So, veronica, a youtuber, also focus on litening as much as possible. She introduced some channels, Stuff you should know, 6 minutes English from BBC, and ALL EARS ENGLISH. I recommend you to listen to those channels whenever you can.

 Number 2
 Listen to different accents
 English is spoken around the world. The number of people speaking English as a second language is higher than that of English native speakers, which means more or less non-native speakers have their own accents affected by their mother tongue. That is why Veronica said you should experience different accents as much as possible.

Number 3
Read and listen at the same time
What do you say about it? Does it sound kind of wierd, right? However, it is very effective to improve your receptive skills in English. By doing that, you can connect the sound of words to the shape of it so that you will come to understand English better. Veronica recommend you to pause and repeat when you listen and read at the same time because you can improve pronunciation, intonation and behavior.

Number 4
Experiment with audio speed
You can slow down or speed up the speed of audio on Youtube so if you find a video slow or fast, you can adjust the speed to the point where you can understand comfortably.

Number 5
Practice active listening 
Active listening means trying to understand what people say and showing that you are active listening to people. To show your atitude to people, you can use phrases like Sure, I hear you something like that.

Extra writing 
I focus on listening to first three or four words of the sentence beucase the first some words have the important meaning of the sentence. So, I recommend you to focus on that former part of a sentence when you listen to English.
