Future Creation Program（FCP）[ オセロー／ W シェイクスピア]では、今回ドラマトゥルクとして、福岡の演劇ユニットそめごころの石田聖也さん、台湾の文学研究者のShin Chang/張新さんに入っていただいています。
今回このお二人に公演の日まで、作品に関して往復書簡を交わしていただき、作品の魅力や作品創作を通じて東アジアの舞台芸術の可能性や未来についてやりとりをおこないます。
この往復書簡1ターン目は、石田さんからShinさんへ。
このやりとりを何度か続け、公演最終日には、Shinさんと石田さんによるシンポジウムをおこないます。

　昨日「オセロー」の出演者たちが来日し、いよいよ創作が始まっています。劇場で6名の韓国俳優と日本の演出家、スタッフが共同生活をしながら、二週間で作り上げるプログラムです。朝8時に全員で朝食をとり、10時から俳優のトレーニング、昼からは作品の稽古というルーティーンで日々過ごしていきます。毎朝のトレーニングで演出家の考え方を共有し、共通言語（必要とされる身体性など）を獲得していくこととなります。
　私はこのEATIを、韓国/台湾/日本、3カ国での演劇創作を通した単なる文化交流の場ではなく、混ざり合いながら、東アジアで連帯し、新たな文化•文脈を作り出し世界へ発信していこうという野心を持つことに期待しています。私自身「オセロー」でドラマトゥルクをshinさんと担当することになりますが、EATI全体の実行委員長でもあり、一人の演出家でもあります。新たに大川市に誕生したこの劇場〈camif〉が、私たちの新たな文化を象徴する、そんな未来について考えてみたいです。
　「オセロー」の創作期間はshinさんとの往復書簡をすることとなり、本番終わりにはシンポジウムも用意されていますが、現場で起こっていることだけではなく、互いの思考、感じたことを渡し合えれば嬉しいです。shinさんと日本でお話できるのを楽しみにしています。
　このやりとりを始めるにあたり、shinさんのこのEATIという取り組みに対する所感をうかがってみたいです。また、日本や韓国の演劇についてどのような印象をお持ちですか？

Mr. SHIN
　The performers of "Othello" came to Japan yesterday, and the creation has finally begun. This is a program created in two weeks while six Korean actors, a Japanese director, and staff live together in a theater. We all have breakfast at 8am, actor training from 10am, and rehearsals for the production from noon. In the morning training, we will share the director's way of thinking and acquire a common language (such as the required physicality).
　EATI is not just a place for cultural exchange through theatrical creations in the three countries of Korea/Taiwan/Japan. I hope you have that kind of ambition. I myself will be in charge of the dramaturge for "Othello" together with Shin-san, but I am also the chairman of the executive committee for EATI as a whole, and I am also a director. I would like to think about the future where this theater <camif>, which was newly born in Okawa City, symbolizes our new culture.
　During the creation period of "Othello", I will be exchanging letters with shin, and there will be a symposium at the end of the performance, but I would like you to share not only what is happening on site, but also what you think and feel. I would be happy if I am looking forward to talking with Shin in Japan.
　Before starting this exchange, I would like to ask Shin about his impressions of this initiative called EATI. Also, what is your impression of Japanese and Korean theater?
