アメリカへの出発！"Departure"

やっと書く気になりました。

ということで、出発した時の話です！

Let's start the prologue.

まず、この旅のきっかけとなったのが出発の約1年前に友人から言われた言葉

「アメリカ横断せえへん？」

The beginning of this trip is the word of my friend Taku.
"Let's across the USA, shall we?"

マックいこうぜ的なノリで言ってくる変わり者が俺の周りにはうじゃうじゃいました。
彼もその中の一人。

There are many oddballs around me. He is one of them.
He said as if he says "Let's go to McDonald's."

彼はその年の夏にヨーロッパ周遊の一人旅も果たしており、かなり心強い存在でした。
あいつがいるならまぁ大丈夫だろ

ってな軽いノリで俺もオッケーしてしまう変人なので。

He had been experienced the europe round trip. 
It is reassuring for me. I felt that everything's gonna be ok.

Since I'm one of the oddballs too. 

そこからが大変…

キャンピングカーで横断するために7～8人は必要だ！
ってなはなしで人集めをしたのに、出発の半年前に5人もキャンセル…

But the trouble comes so fast…

We want to across by a camping car, and we gather 8 people at last. However, 5 of them canceled it about 6 months ago.

俺とそいつと、もう一人は俺の地元の後輩だったけど、後輩には申し訳ないし気も遣うだろうからと早めに話して、辞退してもらいました。

There are 3 people, me, Taku, and my friend lives in my hometown.
Talk to my friend and suggested to decline it. 

さぁ、アメリカ横断なんて易いことじゃなかったんだ、諦めようと思っていた俺とは裏腹に

I thought that across the USA is not so easy. I almost gave up this dream. But he's not.

「どーする？人集めるか、人数絞って行くか」

"How will we do? Gather people again, or will we go 2 or 3 people?"

と問いかけてくるたくとぅー(友人)

俺もやっぱり諦めきれない気持ちはあったので人を集めることにしました！

Taku questioned to me.
And I didn't want to give up!

といっても結局のってくれたのは同じ大学の後輩一人だけ。

この3人でアメリカへと飛び立つ決意をしました。

At last, our college's junior joined us. We decided to go to the USA just 3 of us.

レンタカーや航空券は無事手配し、あとは出発をまつのみ！！
ここまできたらワクワクしかありませんでした。

Boarding pass and rental car is already booked.
The last thing is wait my departure!
I was so excited!

出発までに全員で集まったのは学校で数回の打ち合わせのみ！

なんて行き当たりばったりな旅なんだ…(笑)

Before the departure, we only met a few times to decide where will we go.
Our trip will go with the flow… 

それでも、大まかなコースと絶対行きたいスポット数か所を出し合って、大体のプランは立てました。

But we roughly decide our route and the place we must visit.

あとは着いてから考える！(笑)

りく（後輩）が用意してくれた「地球の歩き方」とか読んでモチベあげてました。

Our junior Riku prepared the book "How to walk America" 
We read it and waited the departure.

当日は関空に現地集合！早めに集まってゆっくりと昼飯を食べて搭乗手続き！

At the day of departure, we gather directly at the airport and had some meal.

ついにアメリカに行くのかと、半分現実味のないままでの出発でした。

たくとぅーは空港で家賃の振り込みしはじめるし(笑)

Taku paid the rent at the ATM in the airport…
So I couldn't believe that we are depart soon.

緊張感も実感もなさすぎるまま飛行機へ！

Finally on the plane!!

修学旅行ぶりの機内食にテンション爆上がり！

In-flight meal makes me so excited!!!

でも、16時間もエコノミーで空を飛び続けるのは本当に2度と経験したくない苦痛…

それでも俺はLCCに乗る！笑

これからも海外はLCCだとおもいます。笑

16 hours flight in economy class is too hard to me…

そして到着したのは
ニューヨーク！J.F.ケネディ空港！

And finally we arrived at New York JFK airport.

まだ実感がわきません。まじでアメリカに来たのか…

信じられないまま空港の外へ！すると、

映画でしかみたことのないイエローキャブ！

せっかくなのでこれに乗って、今夜はホテルまでささっと行ってゆっくり休むことにしました！

I couldn't believe that I am in the USA.
When I go outside from the airport, I saw the Yellow Cab! I only saw that in the movie.
We use it and head to the hotel.
We need to take  some rest…

アメリカって自由の国だけど本当に自由です
タクシー運転手が運転中に友達と電話繋いでるんですから…

めちゃんこフレンドリーだったけど！！

I thought that the USA is the country of freedom.
That was true. A taxi driver was talking with his friend on the phone during our ride…

ということで次はNYでのお話を進めていくつもりです！
