社起大応援歌

半年かけて和洋合わせて30曲以上聴き、社起大応援歌に選んだのは英国南部ハーシャム出身のバンド”SHAM69“の1978年発表の彼らの代表曲　“If The Kids Are United” です。彼らは日本ではそれほど知られていませんが、本国では今も根強い人気を誇ります。選んだ理由は、元気をくれて皆で盛り上がれるキャッチーな曲調と、社起大にピッタリのメッセージ性の強い歌詞です。特に曲名となっているリフレインの箇所で得られる全会場の一体感、グルーブ感はハンパないです。プロサッカーの試合の際、敵味方のサポーターが一緒になってこの曲を歌って盛り上がる話は有名なのも理解できます。歌詞と訳を転記してみました。訳は当方の超意訳です！
