Euronymmen

Euronymmen
O gracious lady,
I be the thief, be the thief
that took thee away, heifer-thief
thy unfurling, odorant triangles
the all-observant, gold-rimmed, green eyes
round, fit into my notes, of the reed
O gracious curved lines
unfurling, unfurling, alike the horizon
as the twin gold-rimmed
fountains of jealousy sink into lengthened
curved surface of lake
Euronymmen
I sing, I sing
with tongue cleft and torn like a venomous snake
I sing, I sing
discoursing on thy beauty, hopeful thy heart to win
while thy sight sinks into the shadowy Hades
I sing, I sing---
I Hermes, at the dim and twilit afternoon
against nocturnal burials of reason
I sing, I sing
fair Europa, Hera-irked, dead and taken

Your-Reason, for thy cause I sing
