Nakazato Taroemon Kiln is a famous kiln that has been in operation for over 420 years in Karatsu. The natural, simple, and sophisticated pottery, which has been refined over many years and created using techniques that have been passed down, is also popular as a return gift for Peace Winds Japan's hometown tax donations. We spoke to Taroemon Nakazato, the 14th generation owner of Karatsu ware, who continues to take on the challenge of adding originality to the tradition of Karatsu ware, evolving it, and connecting it to the future.
