口語訳凄い！『DeepL翻訳』で英語の翻訳を実際に使ってみた

DeepLという評判が高い翻訳サービス。

基本無料で、6/16で有料サービスが日本で開始という事で盛り上がっております。

ということで、早速使ってみました！

以下は使い方。

１．使い方

まずはこちらにアクセス

DeepL翻訳：高精度な翻訳ツール

ここをクリック

この画面で画面の左側に文章を入力すると、

左側に翻訳された文章が出力されます。

翻訳したのは、自分が企画するオンライン英語学習で使用させて頂いた例文。

２．実際に使ってみた

A : So many people are here today.
You look funny in a graduation cap and gown.
B : Thanks. You look funny, too. Look at this program.　
It says "Commencement Exercises," not "Graduations Ceremony."
A : Yes, it’s a more formal way of saying the same thing.
B : Why is it called "commencement"?
A : "Commencement" means starting something.So, our graduation is the start of our adult lives, not just the end of our college days.
B : Yes, I’m looking forward to starting my career in the real world.
And I really have to thank my parents. Without their support, I couldn’t have graduated.

"DeepL"と"Google翻訳"を比較してみました。

注目すべきはここ。

"You look funny in a graduation cap and gown."

■DeepL
"卒業式の帽子とガウン姿が面白いな"

■Google翻訳
"あなたは卒業の帽子とガウンでおかしく見えます"

３．感想

Google翻訳よりDeepLの方が、口語訳が得意そうな印象です。

どちらの翻訳サービスもまだまだ完璧とはではないですが、大まかな意味はわかります。

海外の専門サイトを見たときにいちいち翻訳するのが面倒な時はこういうサービスは本当に助かります。

海外の方とのやり取りでも、口語訳で日本語入力して、そのニュアンス近い英語訳を提案してくれたら凄く便利だなぁ。

学生時代にこういうのが使えたら宿題楽だったかも。
