grow  という言葉は注意が必要です。
My son is growing up healthy.     自動詞　　
「息子は健康に育っています」
I am growing some vegetables.  他動詞　　
「野菜を栽培しています」
※人間を育てるという意味では　grow  は使いません。
I am growing some kids.    は上の絵のイメージになってしまいます。
※正しくは・・
I am raising some kids.   

キャベツ・レタス・ブロッコリー・カリフラワー
  などは不可算名詞です・・
I like a cabbage.  ✖    
I ate broccolies.  ✖

数える場合は
a head of cabbage.
two heads of broccolies.
