The reasons why I worked at Kyabakura.
Hi, guys. I’m Minoru.
I’m a office worker now. Until last month, I worked at "kyabakura" (a portmanteau of the Japanese pronunciation for “cabaret” and “club”), which is basically a place where men pay lots of money to drink and talk with young girls.
What’s the image of Kyabakura for you?
I guess most Japanese images for Kyabakura are not good.
However, a Kyabakura where I worked was a good place for me.
Today, I’ll talk about why I worked at Kyabakura.
Im 22 years old now.
I was a university student until March.
As a part-time job, i worked Kyabakura for 6 months from last October to March.
Why did I start to work at Kyabakura?
There are three main reasons why I was there.
One is just curiously. When I was 19-20, I used to work at g”Girls bar”( which is similar to Kyabakura, the difference is whether women can sit next to you. When you go to “Girls bar” , women don’t allow to sit next to you. They only stand over the counter. While you go to Kyabakura, they can sit next to you.)So I didn’t have prejudice for “night work”. I wanted to know what the difference between Girls bar and Kyabakura is.
Second is to be admired by a lot of men. I can get some compliments like “you are pretty.””I like you.” These words make me comfortable and give me some confidence. I needed a person who admit my existence because I didn’t have confidence at all.
Last is to communicate with a lot of people and know different values. Talking with people who have experimented working is so useful for me, and I learned a lot from various people. We have some mind, we have some opinions.
For me, it was a good experience to work there. I can get a lot of values and thinking.
Especially, I learned the importance of “free” from its place.
I posted on this article in English. Writing in English can open my mind than Japanese.
