私がかつていた勢いのある国々は、共通してウェディングがパワフルだった気がします。インドはどのような感じなのでしょうか？

Weddings have always been big in India. Usually fixed by elders, marriages in earlier times had a very family feel with each and every tradition being followed. Elaborate functions with rituals were the trend in older times. Everything was decided by family members and the couple had a very little say. With changing times, the couple to be married is more independent, involved and decisive about their own wedding. Some changes have come in with modern world trends spilling over.
Photography plays a major role and why not, it is an investment one makes in memories. Stylish, funky, fun and framed! Pre-wedding shoots are very popular in India. The young are going all out to make the most beautiful memories during the wedding, before and after. With social media being oh-so popular and the world being connected ; photos are really being given a lot of attention.

India is a country full of exotic locations. Rich heritage sites, natural beauty, unique scenery serve as beautiful backdrops. The culture-rich houseboats in Kerala, ornate monuments of Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur, the streets of Mumbai, Taj mahal in Agra, snow filled mountains of Uttarakhand, gardens of Kashmir, Khajurao temple of Madhya Pradesh, pristine beaches of Puri, scenic locales in Ladakh, rustic charm of Pondicherry, are popular locations for pre-wedding shoots. Adding style and culture are quirky props like umbrellas, frames, flowers, guitars and even cars! Stylish accessories and outfits along with make-up complete the picture.
Young couples are very clear about what they want. Some like it fun while some like to keep it traditional. Photographers like to usually interview the couple before-hand, to know the mood and expectations. They also educate them about the latest trends. Miniature photography for example is one such trend.

Of course, romance rules the roost and the most important capture is love. There also themes like, friends, walks, proposal, family, joy of togetherness and more. The budgets are getting bigger and options are varied. One can choose from limitless options available, but one thing is for sure, this is one trend in Indian weddings that has captured the young India’s heart and is here to stay!
