ブラスバンドコンサート

普段より楽しめた気がする週末を送った56日目。

I went to church to see a brass band concert yesterday.
To be honest, I'm not interested in music, but my housemate told me he would play the trumpet, so I decided to go to see it.
When I arrived at the church, the receptionist said it cost $20 to enter the hall.
I thought it was for free, so I was a little upset, but I wanted to see my friend who was playing the trumpet.
The concert was better than I had expected.
Actually, I didn't expect so much, but the sound was dynamic and beautiful.
If I hadn't had a chance like this, I wouldn't have gone to see it, so it was a good experience.
Also, it seems that the ticket fee will be used for homeless and children, so it made me very happy.
Having said that, I had a slightly frustrating thing.
I couldn't understand some jokes that the speakers told during the concert.
Most of the audience were laughing at their jokes, but I just pretended to laugh.
Recently, I am gradually getting better at my listening and speaking skills.
However, it's difficult for me to understand what native speaker are talking about.
At first, I will listen to English from Youtube or a Podcast a lot, and I want to get used to the native speaker's pronunciation.

昨日は、ブラスバンドのコンサートを見に行った。

正直、音楽には全然興味がないけど、ホームステイのホームメイトがトランペットを演奏すると言うことで見に行った。

コンサートは教会で行われていて、入場料が20ドル（2000円）と言われた。

無料で観れると思っていたから、ちょっと動揺したけど、せっかくだしと思って見に行ってきた。

コンサートはあんまり期待してなかったけど思ったよりすごかった。

ブラスバンドと言うことで、大きな音で綺麗だった気がする。。。

こんな機会がないとコンサートに来ることがないからまぁいい経験になった。

それに、入場料は、ホームレスとか子供達の寄付に使われると言ってたから、それはそれでよかった。

でもちょっと悔しいこともあった。

コンサートの途中のつなぎのパートで言ってたジョークが全然理解できなかった。

周りはすごく楽しそうに笑ってる中、自分は周りに合わせて笑うふりをするしかできなかった。

最近、リスニングもスピーキングもちょっとずつ上達している気がしていたけど、実際にネイティブのスピードになるとなかなか理解が難しい。

まずは、YouTubeとかポッドキャストとか使ってネイティブの速さに慣れる練習から始めようかな。。。
