Yesterday I learned a new expression through a conversation with a native speaker, which is "put product in hair".
（昨日ネイティブとの会話を通して、"put product in hair" という新しい表現を学びました）

In Japanese, there's a word "ワックス" that refers to something you use to style your hair.
（日本では、髪の毛をセットするために使うものに "ワックス" という言葉があります）

However, according to the guy I talked with yesterday, who is from the US, even though a word "wax" can be used in English the same way as "ワックス" is used in Japanese, it's not his first choice.
（しかしながら、昨日話したアメリカ人男性によると、英語の "wax" という言葉は、日本語で "ワックス" が使われているのと同じように使うことはできるけど、それは彼の選択する表現ではないとのことでした）

He said,

"I'd use "product" like, I put product in hair."
（かれは、「私なら "I put product in hair：ワックスを髪の毛につける" って感じで "product" を使うかな」 と、言いました）

He continued,

"product means hair product, but you don't have to say "hair". When you say "put product in hair", It's obvious it's hair product from the context. Nobody thinks you put a product in your hair."
（かれは、こう続けました。「"product" は "hair product：ヘアー製品" の意味だけど、"hair" を言う必要はないよ。"put product in hair" って言う時は、ヘアー製品のことを指しているのは状況から明らかだからね。何か個体の製品を髪につけるとは誰も思わないから」）

He added at the end,

"But when you are at a drag store, you have to put "hair" and say, "I'm looking for a hair product". Otherwise, the other person has no idea what you're talking about. You know, there are so many products in the store. You need to specify what it is."
（最後はこのように付け加えました。「でも、薬局にいるときなんかは、"I'm looking for a hair product：ヘアー製品を探しています" って感じで "hair" をいれないといけないよ。じゃないと、相手は何のこと言われてるか分からないからね。店の中には "product：製品" はたくさんあるからね。それが何か明確にしないとね）

・productive：生産的な（形容詞）
