日本に来て忘れてかけていた、「本番に強い」という自分の強さを思い出すことが出来た
今回は定時制高校から専門学校に入学したO.Sさんの進路体験をお届けします！

日本学生支援機構（JASSO）の奨学金と悩みましたが、将来の返済のことも考えてもらうのは辞めました。
入試方法/入試日
推薦入試で、1時間程度の面接がありました。
その他に、3年生の1学期／2学期の成績を送りました。
3年間で18回の欠席があり、面接のときに「多い」と言われたのが、1つ心配だったことでした。
推薦入試を考えている人は、欠席回数はとても大切なので、なるべく休まないようにしましょう。
2020年12月12日に面接があって、クリスマス前に結果を知りました。
学費の工面（受験料・入学金・大学の学費）
事前に調べて準備しました。
お金について、入学金とかはどれぐらいお金がかかるのかとかは調べていたので、1年間ぐらい準備していました。
進路を決めるまでにしたこと
最初は大学に行きたかったけど、大学の勉強をする前に日本語の勉強とか少し足りないかなと思いました。特に、漢字とか書けなくて勉強出来るか不安だったから、専門学校に行くことにしました。高校卒業後、ちゃんと資格を取って仕事につなげたい気持ちはありました。
専門学校を見ていたときに、2つの学校を見ていました。高校3年生の10月頃に専門学校のことを先生と話して、そこから準備をしたのでとても大変でした。駿台ホテル・トラベル専門学校を志望したのですが、もっと時間に余裕をもって準備できたらなとは思いました。
英語、日本語、タガログ語をとか知っている自分の強みを生かして仕事がしたいなと思っていました。最初はエアラインのお仕事に挑戦したかったけど、仕事先を考えた時に遠くに移動したりと難しいと感じたので、東京に多くあるホテルでの仕事をしようと決断しました。
日本ホテル専門学校も見ていて、キャンパスに行ったときに学校がすごいきれいで本当にホテルみたいな場所で印象が良かったけど、学校自体は駿台より小さかったのと、家からとても遠かった（通学時間1時間）ので、最終的に駿台ホテル・トラベル専門学校にしました。また、駿台ホテル・トラベル専門学校は夜間部にも実習があるのが良いと思いました（夜間部の方が学費も安い）。そのほかにも、専門学校が帝国ホテルとかプリンスホテルとか有名なホテルとコネクションがあるのが特に良いと思いました。
進路を決めてから準備したこと
面接練習を一ヶ月ぐらい毎週やっていました。
学校の先生と、カタリバとオンラインで取り組んでいました。学校の先生と、週1回の面接の練習をしていたが、もっとするためにカタリバのメンターと週2回面接の練習をしました。合計で週3回ぐらい。
大変だったのは、面接で喋るための日本語のvocabulary（語彙）が少なくて、それを身につけて行くことが難しかったです。
専門学校が決まった後は、学校の最終学年の卒業テストの勉強をしていました。最近終わりました（2021年2月）。テストの成績が良くなかったら補習を受けないといけないので少し心配していたけど、多分大丈夫でした。
進学準備中のふりかえり
一番覚えているのは、面接のための自己PRを考えるときに、メンターや学校の先生と喋りながら自分の強みを見つけられたことです。日本に来て忘れてかけていた、「本番に強い」という自分の特徴を思い出すことが出来たのが良かったなと思いました。
日本の学校では、あまりプレゼンテーションとか発表とかの機会がなかったので自分が喋ることに不安を感じていたけど、他の人と話す中で自分の強みを見つけれたのが良かったです（ちなみに、私が中学校まで通っていたフィリピンでは、筆記試験30%でプレゼンテーション60%みたいな感じで成績が付けられていたので、とにかく喋ることが多かったです）。
日本語習得について
来日当時：日本語が全くできない状態
高校入学時：日常会話レベル
高校卒業時：N3～N2の間のレベル
日本に来てから１年間、多文化共生センター東京で日本語を勉強しました。高校に入ってからは、特に日本語を勉強した意識はありません。学校の授業でわからないことがあったら先生や友達にどんどん質問をして、勉強を通して日本語を学びました。
高校生活について
高校ではバスケットボール部に所属しており、最終学年ではキャプテンを務めました。その他に、放課後に友人と過ごした時間が大切な思い出です。
今の生活について
授業が16:50から20:00までだから、15:00まではバイトして過ごすかな。
週3、4回ぐらいはバイトしています。
授業の説明についていけなかったり、漢字が書けないということが不安だったりします。友達を作ったりイベントに参加することが楽しみです！

自分は面接のときに日本語能力試験がN3までしか取っていなくて、面接の人に「N2があればもっと良い」と言われたので、高校3年生までに日本語能力試験N2は絶対受けてね。

In this issue, I would like to introduce the career experience of Ms. O.S., who entered a vocational school from a part-time high school!

Entrance Examination Method / Date
I took the entrance exam by school recommendation, and had a one-hour interview. In addition, I sent in my grades for the first and second semesters of my junior year. One thing that worried me was that I had 18 absences in 3 years, which the school pointed out that it was "too many" during the interview.
If you are considering to receive school recommendation for the entrance exam, the number of absences is very important, so try not to miss school as much as possible. I had my interview on December 12, 2020, and I found out the result before Christmas.
Working out school expenses (exam fees, entrance fees, university tuition)
I researched and prepared in advance. I had researched about money and how much the entrance fees and such would cost, so I had about a year to prepare.
What I did before deciding on a career path
At first, I wanted to go to a university, but I thought I needed to study Japanese a little more before I could study at a university. In particular, I couldn't write Kanji characters and I wasn't sure if I could study them, so I decided to go to a vocational school. After graduating from high school, I wanted to get a proper qualification so that I could get a job.
When I was looking at vocational schools, I looked at two schools. I talked with my teacher about vocational schools around October of my third year of high school, and it was very difficult because I had to prepare from there. I applied to Sundai College of Hotel and Travel, but I wished I could have had more time to prepare.
I thought that I would like to work using my strengths of knowing English, Japanese, and Tagalog. At first, I wanted to work in the airlines, but when I thought about where to work, I felt it would be difficult to travel far, so I decided to work in one of the many hotels in Tokyo.
I also looked at Nihon Hotel College, and when I went to the campus, I was impressed by how beautiful the school was and how it really looked like a hotel, but the school itself was smaller than Sundai, and it was very far from my house (1 hour commute), so I decided to go with Sundai College of Hotel and Travel. I also thought it was good that Sundai College of Hotel and Travel offered practical training in the evening classes (the evening classes were also cheaper). I also thought it was good that the school had connections with famous hotels such as the Imperial Hotel and the Prince Hotel.
What I did to prepare after deciding on a career path
I practiced interviewing every week for about a month.
I worked with my school teachers and people from Katariba online. At first, I practiced interviewing once a week with my school teacher, but I wanted to put additional work, so I practiced interviewing twice a week with my Katariba mentor. In total, I practiced about three times a week.
The hardest part was that I didn't have much vocabulary in Japanese to speak at the interview, so it was difficult to acquire it.
After my admission to the vocational school was decided, I studied for the graduation test for my final year at the school. I recently finished it (February 2021). I was a little worried because if I didn't do well on the test, I would have to take make-up classes, but I was probably okay.
Reflection during the preparation for higher education
What I remember most is that I was able to find my strengths by talking with my mentor and school teachers when I was thinking about my personal PR for the interview. I thought it was good that I was able to remember my characteristic of being "strong when taking chances", which I had almost forgotten since I came to Japan.
At school in Japan, I didn't have many opportunities to give presentations, so I was worried about my own speaking ability, but I was able to find my strengths through talking with others. (In the Philippines, where I went to junior high school, there was a 30% written exam and 60% presentation, so I did a lot of talking at school).
About learning Japanese

I studied Japanese at the Multicultural Center Tokyo for around 1 year since I came to Japan. After I started high school, I didn't really study Japanese consciously. If there were things I didn't understand during school classes, I asked the teachers and friends questions all the time, and learned Japanese through studying.
High school life
I was part of the basketball club in high school, and I was the team captain on my last year. Besides that, I cherish my memories that I've spent with my friends after school.
About my current life
I have classes from 4:50 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and I have a part-time job until 3:00 p.m. I have a part-time job about three or four times a week.
I'm worried that I won't be able to follow the explanations in class, or that I won't be able to write Kanji. Also, I'm worried about finding a good part-time job on my own, since I lost my internship this year due to COVID-19, but I'm looking forward to making friends and participating in events!
A word to the people reading this!
At the time of the interview, I had only taken the JLPT up to N3, and the interviewer said that it would be better if I had N2, so definitely take the JLPT N2 before your senior year of high school!

有一件事让我很担心，那就是我在高中3年里有18次缺勤，面试官说缺席太多会有问题。
如果你考虑参加推荐入学考试，缺勤的次数是非常重要的，你应该尽量每天都去学校上课。

当我在查大专（专门学校）时，我找到了两所学校。 我在高3的十月左右与老师谈了报考大专的问题，因为我开始准备得很晚所以非常辛苦。 我申请了骏台酒店管理和旅游学院，但我认为我的准备时间不够多，所以如果有更多的时间来准备就会准备的更充分。
我希望将来能够发挥我的语言特长（懂英语、日语和他加禄语）来工作。 起初，我想在航空公司工作，但当我考虑在哪里工作时，我觉得对于我来说离家太远会不太适应，所以我决定在东京的酒店中工作。
我还看了日本酒店学院，当我参观校园时，学校非常漂亮，看起来就像一个酒店一样，因此我十分动心。但是学校本身比骏台要小，而且离我家很远（需要搭1小时的电车），所以我最后决定选择骏台酒店管理和旅游学院。 我还认为，骏台酒店管理和旅游学院在夜间提供实践培训非常好（夜间部的学费比较便宜）。学校与帝国酒店和王子酒店等著名酒店有联系这一事实也令我十分满意。
在我决定了我的未来之后，我做了什么？
我每周都会练习面试，持续了大约有一个月的时间。
我与我的学校老师、以及Katariba的工作人员一起在网上进行了报考的准备工作。 我每周跟学校老师进行一次面试，但为了做更多准备，我每周与Katariba的工作人员进行两次面试。 总的来说，大约每周三次进行面试的练习。
最困难的是，我没有太多的日语词汇可以在面试中说出来，所以对我来说，准备面试中说的日语很难。
在进学决定了之后，我继续在高中学习，准备参加高3的毕业考试。我在2021年2月完成了它。我有点担心，因为如果我考得不好，就必须参加补习，但我认为我做得还可以。
回顾进学的准备
我印象最深的是，我在考虑面试的自我展示环节时，通过与Katariba工作人员和学校老师的交流，找到了自己的优势。通过与他们的交流，我想起了自己“临场发挥能力强”的特点，这在我来到日本之后几乎已经忘记了。
在日本的学校里，我们没有很多机会做演讲发表我自己的意见，所以我很担心自己的演讲能力会不会变差。但是通过与他人交谈时，我又再次的找到了自己的优势。 （顺便说一下，在我的初中（菲律宾），笔试占30%，演讲占60%，所以我做了很多的演讲）。
关于学习日语
当我来到日本时：我根本就不会说日语。
进入高中时：在进入高中前在日语学校就读一年，学习日语达到N4级水平
在高中毕业时：掌握了N2～N3级以下的日语。
关于你现在的生活
学校的课程16:50开始，20:00结束。所以我一般都会兼职到15:00。
我有一份兼职工作，每周大约上三到四天班。
我担心我无法听懂老师在课堂上的说明，以及不会写汉字而带来的影响。 另外，我很担心自己能不能找到一份好的工作，因为今年由于新型冠状病毒，我失去了实习的机会，但是我很期待能交到朋友，参加活动。
你想对读者说什么？
我在面试的时候，只考到了日语能力考试的N3，面试官告诉我，如果我有N2就更好了，所以希望大家最好能在高三之前达到N2水平。
