【日英対訳】耳に付けないイヤリングを発明した小学生
小学生で社長をつとめる水野舞さんのお話です。
彼女は耳に付けないで済むイヤリングを発明し、会社を経営しています。
彼女の発明「装身具」は特許を取得しました（7,016,202号）。

This is the story of Mai Mizuno, an elementary school student who is a company president. Mizuno invented earrings that do not need to be worn in the ears, and she now runs her own company selling them. Her invention of “accessories” was patented (No. 7,016,202).
発明のきっかけは、彼女がお母さんのピアスに憧れたが、耳に穴をあける必要があるし、イヤリングを付けても耳が痛い、そこで耳に付けないイヤリングを考えました。
The inspiration behind her invention was that while she admired her mother’s earrings, she would need to pierce her ears to wear them, and clip-on earrings hurt her ears. Therefore, she came up with the idea of earrings that do not need to be attached to the ears.
ヘアピンから装飾体を吊り下げ、ヘアピンを髪の毛に留めます。そうすると、吊り下げた装飾部材が耳のあたりまで垂れ下がり、イヤリングをつけているように見えます。
A decorative body is suspended from a hairpin, and the hairpin is fastened to the hair. By doing so, a hanging decorative element hangs down around the ear, making it look like a wearer is wearing earrings.
イヤリングの代わりにヘアピンを使うのはすごい発想だ、ということで、お父さんが特許取得を後押ししてくれたそうです。
Her father encouraged her to file a patent, since using hairpins instead of earrings was such a great idea.
