What is "smart"?? - Nov. 16, 2023.

I’ve been wondering what ”smart” means since yesterday midnight because my childhood friend told me about her annoying seniors. She said both of them are really good at studying but they are not sharp and clever. In spite of her 2-year-old senior not understanding the purpose of work, he hasn’t tried to make sense of it for half a year! It’s incredible, isn’t it? Therefore, her tasks automatically pile up. This is because she knows the reason why her team does that job and what they should do to achieve their own goal, so her boss asks her to do more tasks instead of her senior. She doesn’t need to explain the details of work if he makes his mind clear actively, but he doesn’t do that. In other words, she is usually irritated by his attitude toward work.

Moreover, her instructor annoys her. The senior passes some tasks to her just before the deadline, and even worse, she passes them despite the deadline being over. I can’t understand why the boss does that. It’s terrible. I’m too shocked to say anything. I’m speechless. Her senior’s behavior misleads her into thinking that she is a negligent person.

However, she applauded their academic background and cleverness in studying. I guess they would seem like smart people among academic researchers, but in the corporate world, they would seem like particular individuals. So, what is ”smart”?
