Yesterday, my partner introduced me to her best friend, and we had dinner together. It was my first time meeting and conversing with her friend. Having never met any of my ex-girlfriend’s friends, I was slightly nervous. However, my worries were unfounded; it turned out to be an incredibly enjoyable evening. Reflecting on it, I feel thankful for this invaluable experience, akin to her sharing her closest friend with me. It means a lot that she trusts me enough to let me into this significant part of her life. After dinner, her friend's boyfriend joined us briefly for a chat before we all headed home.

Her friend commented on feeling a bit envious of the time I get to spend with my partner. Although we’ve only been together for eight months, their friendship spans over a decade. There’s undoubtedly a deep bond and understanding between them that I fully respect. On our way home, my partner and I discussed our future. It was heartwarming to know that I am included in her vision of the future, making me feel like an integral part of her life. This moment of happiness is unforgettable. I hope we maintain our relationship for a long time.
