Life at IDE2020 1st Term ｜大学院一学期の振り返り🍁

Hello, I am Himari.
I entered the Innovation Design Engineering programme at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College in the fall of 2020.

I was a hardware engineer and researcher at Apple and I am planning on becoming a Dreamer×Future Inventor.

I would like to look back at the 1st term of my IDE journey.

EVOREVO 6 days 
You will transform a given products and an assigned brand into something evolutionary and revolutionary.

My team was given the Nerf Gun and the brand Xiaomi for the EVOREVO project. 

For the EVO - the team was inspired by the playfulness and the shooting function of the nerf guns and combined it with Xiaomi's smart home series to build this Mi Smart Leash.

For REVO - the team took the "trigger" as the keyword from the nerf gun and used the emotion as a trigger to design the Mi Emopatch, your emotion companion. Smart Life triggered by emotion.

I would like to remember and give acknowledgement to my amazing team members.

Rui Huang in China was a design strategist wanting to become an “Innovator” and a design strategist.
Chunte Ho in Taiwan was a material scientist wanting to become an "Imagineer".
Ziyi Liu in China was an electrical engineer wanting to become a “Designer” and innovator with an artistic background.

EXP 21 days
A successful project will have a substantial design research element gathered from case studies, user research, innovative materials, emerging technology, and state of the art engineering.

My team focused on the final hypothesis
"If we minimize the abstractness of natural disasters by bringing them to a more personal level, people would understand the issue better and be more motivated to donate."

EXP Final Outcome
Brick Box- Building understanding & mending the damage. An initiative to help people understand the global issue on a more personal level.

I would like to remember and give acknowledgement to my wonderful and loving team members who made this project.

Debra Tolu Babalola in London having a background in product design who is becoming a "Creative". 
Biying in China was a scientist wanting to become an "Innovator".
Rui was in the same team as me again and he made a move forward on our EXP journey by having crazy experiments.

RCA Grand Challenge 28 days
A successful project will have a substantial design research element gathered from case studies, user research, innovative materials, emerging technology, and state of the art engineering.

COX -  a concept that will improve people’s mental health and that will promote empathy and awareness of emotions. 

COX is a system that monitors and displays your emotional states throughout the day. This system consists of two devices: First, the CO wearable tracks every electrodermal activity, monitors temperature + movement, and detects spikes in any daily activity. With all this information collected, Artificial Intelligence interprets the data to assign it in one of the four different categories of a Valence-Arousal Emotional Diagram: Disgust, Happiness, Sadness, and Calmness.  For this product, a projector will Display emotion with a multi sensorial and intuitive projection. You can see and hear a summary of the emotions you felt during the day with a simple hand gesture.

Aura Murillo from Mexico in the Global Innovation Design programme had been a Industrial designer and now she is searching for a term but now I will like to become a "Emotional Designer".
Guillaume Innocenti from France in the Intelligent Mobility programme is willing to become a better "Transportation Designer".
Meng Han from China in the Textile programme was a artist wanting to become an "Innovator".

Working with many talented people through the modules, I had felt that this is the place I should be for becoming the person whom I wish to become.
