1000の「生」が集まって一羽の蝶になる。

パンデミック宣言の後、４年ぶりに花火を見に行きました。久しぶりの花火はすっかりカラフルで豪華に。でもやっぱり黒色火薬のシンプルな色合いに惹かれます。夜空に花を咲かせる艶やかさ、パッと開いて一瞬で消える儚さ。どちらも花火の魅力だと思うけれど、僕は後者を取りたい。画像は、かつて花火から着想を得て製作したシリーズ「蝶」の一点。

After the declaration of the pandemic, I went to see fireworks for the first time in four years. The fireworks, after such a long time, had become completely colorful and extravagant. But I am still drawn to the traditional and simple color. The fascinating beauty of flowers blooming in the night sky, the fleeting beauty as they burst open and disappear in an instant. I think both aspects are charming in fireworks, but I personally prefer the latter.

The image is one piece from a series called "Butterfly," which I created drawing inspiration from fireworks in the past.
