競争社会　competitive society

「競争はないほうが良いって本当？」という記事を読んだ。「競争社会の歩き方」という本の紹介をしていた。反競争的な教育を受けた人たちは「協力することに否定的」になったという。「利他性が低く、やられたらやり返す」という価値観をもつ傾向が高い。教育側が意図したこととは反対の結果になっていると書かれていた。

I read an article titled "Is it true that no competition is better than no competition?  He was introducing a book called "How to Walk in a Competitive Society. Those who received anti-competitive education became "negative about cooperating," he said. They are less altruistic and more likely to have a value system that says, "If I get hit, I'll hit back. It said that the results were the opposite of what the educators had intended.

学校教育で行う反競争的な教育というものが何かはよく知らないが、この記事に対して疑問を持ったので記述したい。

I don't know much about anti-competitive education in schools, but I have a question about this article and would like to describe it.

まず、社会自体が競争社会であるので、その社会に染まったと考えることが自然であると考える。反競争的な教育を受けたことが悪のような書き方には疑問を覚える。そして根本的に誤っていると思うのが、今の社会が自由競争の上になりたっていると妄信している点だ。

First of all, society itself is a competitive society, so it is natural to think that we are tainted by it. I question the way it is written as if anti-competitive education is a bad thing. And what I think is fundamentally wrong is the delusional belief that today's society is based on free competition.

本当の自由競争であるなら業界1位の企業が何十年も同じであることに疑問を持つべきだ。あなたはゲームでずっと1位であり続ける事ができるのだろうか？ずっと勝ち続けているという事はあまりにもつまらないためプレイヤーが1人であるか、イカサマをしているかのどっちかだろう。

And what I think is fundamentally wrong is the delusional belief that today's society is based on free competition. If we are talking about true free competition, we should question how the number one company in an industry can stay the same for decades. Can you stay in first place in the game forever? Winning all the time is either too boring and the player is alone, or he is cheating.

本当に競争のメリットを追求するなら、公正なルールを作り、厳格に判定をするシステムを作るべきである。それが機能していないので今日の上位が不変な社会を構成しているのではないだろうか？

If we really want to pursue the benefits of competition, we should create fair rules and a strict system of judgment. Isn't it because it doesn't work that today's top level constitutes an unchanging society?

競争で勝つことは楽しい。競争は良いものだ。ただ、ずっと同じプレイヤーが勝つことは見ている側にもこれほどつまらないと感じさせるゲームもないと私は思う。

Winning in competition is fun. Competition is good. However, I don't think there is any game where the same player winning all the time is as boring to watch as it is to play.
