ウインブルドン選手権：2023年7月9日（日）

テニスの四大大会（グランドスラム）の一つであるウインブルドン選手権がロンドンで7月3日から7月16日まで開催されている。

　7月8日（日本時間では7月9日）に，女子シングルス3回戦で，アナ・ブリンコワ（ロシア）対アリーナ・サバレンカ（ベラルーシ）の試合が行われた。

　ロシアのウクライナ侵攻を受けて，2022年のウインブルドン選手権ではロシアとベラルーシの選手は大会への出場が拒否された。四大大会の他の大会の全豪オープン，全仏オープン，全米オープンでは，ロシアとベラルーシの選手の出場が認められていたため，今年のウインブルドン選手権では，両国の選手はロシアとベラルーシの政権と指導者を支持しないことなどを条件に参加が認められた。

　ブリンコワ選手とサバレンカ選手は，ロシアとベラルーシの政権と指導者を支持しないことを表明したうえでの参加となるわけで，両選手の今後のことを考えると，気の毒に思ってしまう。

Wimbledon Championships：July 9th(Sunday)

The Wimbledon Championships, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments in tennis, is being held in London from July 3rd to July 16th.

On July 8th (July 9th in Japan), the women's singles third round match between Anna Blinkova from Russia and Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus took place.

In response to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Russian and Belarusian players were denied participation in the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. However, players from Russia and Belarus were allowed to participate in the other Grand Slam tournaments, the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, as a result. For this year's Wimbledon Championships, the players from both countries were permitted to participate on the condition that they do not support the regimes and leaders of Russia and Belarus.

Blinkova and Sabalenka have stated their non-support for the regimes and leaders of Russia and Belarus in order to participate. It's unfortunate to think about the future of both players under these circumstances, and I can't help but feel sorry for them.
