NATURAL FLOW

It is the middle of the 23rd century, and the population of the earth has stopped increasing at around 10 billion people, the limit of food supply, and has actually begun to decline. The population is no longer increasing, and there is no longer enough soil to build roads and buildings. That's why today we are thankfully able to use the infrastructure that our ancestors built hundreds of years ago, with some repairs. Like many other places, no new buildings have been built in this city for hundreds of years, but the vegetation continues to grow as a result of the earth's ability to continue to grow. In the end, plants will be the strongest living things on land on Earth, and this city will eventually be swallowed up by the depths of the forest. Before that happens, I'll leave it as an illustration. The lives and deaths of humans are nothing more than momentary events in the history of the earth. Human beings are cute creatures that feel romantic every time they excavate the ruins of an undiscovered ancient civilization, but the city we live in now will still remain as a ruin several thousand years from now, and future humans (if they exist) will... I wonder if I'll be thinking about romance as much as I am now.

時は23世紀の半ば、
地球上の人口は食料の限界である１００億人あたりで増加は止まり、
むしろ減少に転じ始めていた。
もう人口も増えないし、道や建物を作る土も無くなった。
だから今は数100年前にご先祖様が建造したインフラをありがたく補修を加えながら使わせてもらっている。
御多分に洩れず、この街も同様に新しい建造物は何百年も作られていないが、
植生遷移は相変わらず地球のなせる技で、緑がどんどん生い茂っていく。
最終的には地球上の陸地では植物が最強の生物で、
いずれはこの街も森の深みに飲み込まれるだろう。
そうなる前にイラストとして残しておく。
人間の生き死になど、地球の歴史においては取るに足らない一瞬の出来事に過ぎない。人類は未発見の古代文明遺跡を発掘するたびにロマンを感じる可愛い生き物だが、
今生活しているこの街も数千年後には遺跡として残っていて、
未来の人間（存在していれば）は今と同じようにロマンに思いを馳せるのだろうか。
