今回はオーストラリアのアニメ「ブルーイ」について。

ブルーイはオーストラリアの一般家庭を、カワイイ犬のキャラクターたちで擬人化した子ども向けのアニメ。しかし、子ども向けだからといってあなどるなかれ。大人にもしっかりと刺さる内容なのがブルーイの素晴らしいところ。このアニメは子どもについて描く一方、親と子育てについても描いています。
だから観ている親も共感できるし、すごく刺さることが多いです。

そんなオーストラリアで大人気のブルーイ、日本ではディズニーチャンネルで観れるんだとか。

子どもがいる人にはすごくおすすめしたいアニメです。

We are living in Australia and have a two year old daughter. Naturally, as many parents in Australia do, I spend a good mass of time watching Bluey with my daughter. It is almost un-Australian to not watch some Bluey as an Australian parent (I am not an Aussie but anyway). Bluey is a cultural phenomenon. I probably even call it an Australian cultural milestone. 

Bluey is a cartoon show producer by ABC. ABC is like NHK in Japan. A government funded broadcasting organisation. It owns TV channels, radio stations, and news media outlets.

It is no surprise that Bluey became a cultural phenomenon. ABC has probably poured a lucrative budget and vast resources into the production of Bluey episodes. The quality they showcased in the production of this show is just fantastic. 

Great characters, lively animation, catchy soundtrack, and very relatable plots. When I say "relatable plots", I meant it for parents to relate. I think one of greatnesses of Bluey is the plot that is enjoyable even for adults. Bluey is a series of parenting tales. The episodes accurately illustrate what ordinary parents would experience on the daily basis. They place a big focus on recreating our "daily grind". 

Parenting is something that we all can relate across different cultures. Bluey has vividly and captured the elements of parenting and encapsulated in digestible and kids friendly cartoon episodes. Bluey episodes are cleaver, witty, creative and quite often very moving. 

It is safe to say that Bluey now is an icon of Australia. 

I really recommend Bluey to kids but more so to parents. If you are in Japan, you can apparently watch it on the Disney Channel. Give it a try and you can emerse yourself in the daily life of an ordinary fluffy Australian family.
