August 3, 2020: Paris, Robbery, Lucky (パリ、強盗、幸運)

The following morning, I noticed my purse was empty, and there were no French banknotes. Then, I recalled what happened in the lift yesterday night. At that moment, I found out that I had my money stolen. In retrospect, it might have been a good thing that I was drunk and got generous. It helped to prevent me from being injured, although I lost seventy or eighty thousand yen.
On the day, I was going to come home to the Netherlands after having a business meeting with my customer. But I had no money for taxis. I need it to move to a French airport from my customer’s office and to my home from a Dutch airport. When I was at a loss for what to do, my boss suddenly appeared at the customer’s office. I had my boss pay for the taxi from the office to the airport and drive me to my home from the Dutch airport. At home, I was greatly comforted by my wife.

　翌日、財布を空っぽで、紙幣がないことに気づき、昨晩のことを思い出しました。その時、初めて、強盗にあったのだと認識しました。今思うと、酔っ払って気が大きくなっていたのがよかったのかもしれません。金額にして7、8万円を失いましたが、危害を受けずにすみました。素直に、お金を渡したのがよかったのだと思います。
　強盗にあった翌日は、商談を終えてオランダの家に帰る予定だったのですが、お金がなくて困りました。商談先からパリの空港までと、オランダの空港から家までのタクシー代がなくなってしまいました。どうしようかと思案していたら、突然、上司が商談先に現れて助かりました。パリの空港までのタクシー代は上司に出してもらい、オランダについてからは、上司が空港に車を駐車していたので、家まで乗せてもらいました。家では、妻にたくさん慰めてもらいました。
