December 15, 2023: Cushion, Wasting Money （クッション、無駄遣い）

The other day, I really felt again that I could do nothing without my wife. At that time, I was struggling to find a cushion that would fit me. Before that, I had used an old cushion. But it had not come to fit me and did not make me sit with comfort. So I was trying to find another cushion on Amazon. What I was looking for was the one that helped my pelvis stand up and was not too expensive. Then, I found and ordered one from MOGU. As soon as I received it, I tried it. But it was not as comfortable as I had expected. It was much smaller than expected and did not cover my whole hip. I pulled it or tried other things to extend and make it more flexible. But that did not work, and it was very hard to keep sitting on.
At that moment, my wife came close to me to ask for something. But she was aware that I was struggling with the cushion. Then, she asked me what I was doing, and I told her that I was trying to adjust the cushion to fit me. Then, she understood what I liked to do. She told me the cushion would not satisfy me, no matter what I did. And she brought me a cushion that she had used before. She suggested that I try it, and I tried it immediately. Then, I found it comfortable and fit me very well. It was exactly what I was looking for. It fully met all my requirements, and I had nothing unsatisfactory to the cushion. So, I asked her to let me keep using it, and she accepted the request. Since then, I have been using it with comfort. It helped me to focus on my work.
I ended up being told by my wife that I had wasted money by buying an inexpensive one without checking the specs carefully. The one I bought only cost a third of the one my wife gave me. I should not have scrimped on the cushion. I will also consult with my wife when I buy something like this.

　先日、妻がいないと何もできないと改めて痛感しました。そのとき、自分に合うクッション探しに格闘していました。それまでは古いクッションを使っていたのですが、合わなくなって、座り心地が悪くなってきたのです。そのため、アマゾンで別のクッションを探していました。欲しいものは、骨盤が立ち、あまり高くないものでした。そしたら、MOGUのクッションを見つけたので、注文しました。届いたら、すぐに使ってみました。でも、思ったほど快適ではなく、かつ、ずっと小さくてヒップ全体を包んでくれなかったのです。引っ張ってみたり、他のことをしてみたりして、クッションを伸ばしたり柔らかくしたりしようとしました。でも、うまくいかず、座り続けるのはとても辛かったです。
　そのとき、妻が別件でボクに近づいてきました。ボクがクッションと格闘していることに気づいた妻は、「何をしているの」と問いかけてきたので、ボクの体に合うようクッションを調整していると説明しました。ボクが何をしたいのかを理解した妻は、そのクッションでは何をやっても無駄と言って、自身が以前使っていたクッションを持ってきました。そして、これを試すよう言われたので、早速使ってみました。すると、座り心地がよく、フィット感がありました。まさにボクが求めていたものでした。ボクの要件を十分に満たしていて、不満な点は何もありませんでした。それで、このまま使い続けさせてほしいとお願いしたら、快く引き受けてくれました。それ以来、快適に使っています。おかげで仕事に集中することができました。
　結局、スペックをよく確認せずに安価なものを買って無駄遣いをしたと妻に言われてしまいました。ボクが買ったクッションの値段は、妻からもらったものの3分の1でした。ケチるんじゃなかったと思っています。また、同じようなものを買うときは、妻にも相談しようと思っています。
