February 27, 2023: February 22, Painful Day(２月22日、衝撃の一日）
February 22 was a painful and sombre day. Shofukutei Shohei, a comedian, died young. He was only sixty-six years old and only three years older than me. He was an apprentice of Shofukute Tsurube, a comedian and comic storyteller, and a good partner of Akashiya Sanma for group dates. I have a lot of memories of him. Among them is Hamasho, a TV show, that I still remember well. In the TV show, he was with Hama chan, a member of the comedy duo Downtown. Above all, I liked the Fuzoku-Deka segment in which Shohe and Hama-chan dressed up as detectives to interview women who worked in the sex industry. They delightfully chatted with women as if they had forgotten to be on the TV show. Their interview and talks made me laugh a lot. I am really sorry for his loss.
The same day, I found another painful news. The long-running TV show, Tamori Club, is going to end at the end of March. It was a double whammy for me. Frankly speaking, I have recently hardly watched it. I had assumed that the show would never end. It was like another long-running TV show, Shinkon-san Irasshai, to me. It has run for forty years, and Tamori-san is still full of energy. Instead of ending at the end of March, it could have aimed to mark for the fiftieth anniversary.
2月22日はショッキングな日でした。笑福亭笑瓶さんが亡くなられました。まだ、66歳と若く、ボクと３歳しか変わりません。本当に残念です。笑瓶さんの思い出は一杯ありますが、一番印象に残っているのは、ダウンタウンのハマチャンとの番組『HAMASHO』です。そのなかでも、『風俗デカ』が最高に面白かったです。二人が番組であることを忘れているのではとおもえるほど、女性と楽しそうに話されていた姿を見て大笑いしました。笑瓶さんのご冥福をお祈りします。
また、同じ日に『タモリ倶楽部』が３月で終了するというニュースが飛び込んできました。ダブルパンチを喰らった気分です。正直なところ、最近はあまり見ていませんでした。この番組は終わる分けがないと高を括っていたからです。この番組は、40年も続いてきました。そして、タモリさんも元気です。終了ではなく、50年を目指すこともできたと思います。
