March 27, 2024: Hazy Moon, In Secret （朧月、暗々裏）

In general, spring is the season that elates us. With the arrival of spring, the cold weather goes away and it gets warmer and warmer, with cherry blossoms in bloom. We go out to enjoy the season. And we sometimes would like to spread our wings by having a party under the cherry blossoms.
But in a way, spring is the season that often clouds our visions and makes us overlook what is important to us. Sometimes, it sees windy days, and sometimes, it finds the cold come back. So, spring is not as comfortable for me as it is widely said. It is also the season that blinds us by haze. It has had so many days with haze that the word 'haze' or 'hazy' is used as part of seasonal words for spring, such as the 'hazy moon', which is the most popular one.
Spring is also a busy season for us. It is the season of the start of a new fiscal year. In other words, everything starts all over again. In the season, schools and kindergartens welcome new students and children, as companies and offices welcome new employees. We also have to struggle with pollen allergy, covering our mouth, nose and eyes with a mask and glasses. So, we are forced to lower our eyes and have no room to see what is happening around ourselves.
From the other perspective, spring may be the best season to do something in secret. As we are so busy or our visions are clouded, no one can afford to look carefully at what is happening around them. And it is the LDP’s Diet members who are now trying to do so. Who is going to forgive them for a wrong?
I tried to write this article using the words of the 'hazy moon' and 'in secret'.

　一般的に、春はわくわくする季節です。春の訪れとともに、寒さは去り、暖かくなり、桜が咲きます。この時期を楽しむために、出かけます。桜の下で宴会をして羽を伸ばしたいと思うこともあります。
　でも、ある意味、春はボクたちの視界を曇らせ、大切なものを見落とさせる季節といえるかもしれません。風の強い日もあれば、寒さが戻ってくることもあります。そのため、巷で言われているほど、春は快適ではありません。また、霞で目がくらむ季節でもあります。「朧月」など、春の季語の一部として「霞」や「霞む」という言葉が使われるほど、霞む日が多いです。
また、春は忙しい季節でもあります。新年度が始まる季節です。あらゆるものが一から始まる時期です。学校や幼稚園は新入生を迎え、会社やオフィスは新入社員を迎えます。また、花粉症に悩まされ、マスクとメガネで口、鼻や目を覆わなければなりません。そのため、目を伏せねばならず、周囲のことを見る余裕がありません。
　見方を変えると、春は密かに何かをするのに最適な季節かもしれません。忙しかったり、視界が曇っていたりすると、誰も身の回りで起きていることに注意を払う余裕がなくなります。今、それをやろうとしているのが自民党の国会議員です。自分たちの過ちを許してもらえると思っているのでしょうか？
