新入生にAPUで過ごした感想聞いてみた!(前編)

こんにちは！お久しぶりですね〜
しゅんすけだよ〜！
みなさん、ゴールデンウィーク中での授業お疲れ様だよね〜
自分は1日だけ温泉祭りに参加したんだけど、久しぶりに大はしゃぎしちゃった〜！
クォーターブレイクまでも、あと少し…！頑張っていこう〜

Hello~ It’s long time no see you guyssss!

I know that everyone feels tired about the classes in Golden Week(5/3~5/8)
I joined the Onsen Festival in Beppu which was sooooo much fun!!
We have just two weeks(?) to the Quater Break!! Gambaro ne~

さて！お久しぶりBeppaperの企画として新入生インタビューをしてきたよ！
前回行ったインタビューみたいに、一ヶ月過ごした感想を”１ワード”で書いてもらいました！
今回は前編ということで、キラキラした新入生3人を紹介します！！
みんな、入学してからどんな一ヶ月を送ってきたんだろう…？

So, We did an interview as we did before.
We asked the new-year student.”Tell me about your APU Life in 1 word”
This article is the first version, We will introduce 3 students to it!

今回インタビューに答えてくれた一回生！ありがとう！！
ARIGATO!!

１.幸喜そらさん(そら)　1回生　APS / Koki Sora (Sora)/ 1year student / APS

①日本の南国である沖縄県からAPUへやってきた幸喜そらさん。
選んだ言葉は、「変化」の「変」でした！

Koki Sora came to APU from Okinawa(a tropical prefecture in Japan).
The word she chose was "変(Hen)" for "変化(change)!"

②別府に引っ越してきてから、生活自体がガラッと変化したので、「変化」の「変」にしました。具体的にいうと、自炊とか洗濯とかの家事類を実家にいる時にしなかったけど、新生活が始まって身の回りの環境や、やるべきことが大きく変わりました！

I chose  "変(Hen)" for "変化(change)" because my life itself has totally changed since I moved to Beppu. To be more specific, I didn't do housework such as cooking and laundry when I was at my parents' house, but my surroundings and the things I had to do changed drastically when I started my new life!

③2年生からダブルディグリープログラムに参加したいな〜と考えてます。
とにかく留学をしてみたい！

I would like to participate in a double degree program starting in my 2nd year.
Anyway, I want to study abroad!

*ダブルディグリープログラム：APUとアメリカのセントエドワーズ大学の学生が、所属大学の2年間と相手大学での2年間の留学をあわせて、合計4年間の学修を行い、両大学の学位取得が可能となるプログラム 
*Double Degree Program: A program that allows students from APU and St. Edwards University in the U.S. to study for a total of four years, including two years at their home university(APU) and two years at the partner university(St. Edwards), to obtain degrees from both universities.

④なんだろう。一週間のオンライン期間とかに寮で多くの友達ができたことがとても楽しかったです。オンラインでも友達ができるなんてすごいな。と思いました！
*今のAPハウス(APU1年生の寮)は規制が少しずつ解除されつつあるようです。

I really enjoyed making many friends in the *AP house during the one-week online period and other times. It was amazing that I could make friends even online. I thought!
*It seems that the restrictions are slowly being lifted in the AP House (APU freshman dorm) now.

2. 樋尻伊杏さん(イアン)　1回生　APS / HIJIRI Ian (Ian) /1st year/ APS

①さて！二人目は、大阪出身の樋尻伊杏さんです！選んだ言葉は「出会い」でした
(1) Well! Our second student is HIJIRI Ian from Osaka! The word she chose was "出会い
(encounter)"!

②今まで大阪にいて、限られた人としか出会ってないけれど、APUで色々な人(国際学生・国内学生)と出会えたのがものすごく印象的だったのでこの言葉を選びました！
実際にAPハウスに住む タイ・韓国・インドネシア・ベトナムの学生とお友達になれました！
彼らと生活してて、カルチャーショックではなくて…ご飯とかの衣食住が全然違うことに気づきました！
(2)I chose this word because I have only met a limited number of people in Osaka so far, but I was very impressed by the variety of people (international and domestic students) I met at APU!
I actually made friends with students from Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, and Vietnam who live in APU House.
Living with them, wasn't a culture shock... but I realized that food, clothing, and Living are completely different!

③大学の間は、たくさん挑戦して失敗したい！
海外留学に挑戦してみたり、自分から何か行動を起こしてみたいなって思います！
(3) While I'm in college, I want to try and fail a lot!
I would like to try studying abroad or take some action on my own!

④APハウスの同フロアの子と集まって話をすることがとても楽しいです！
昨日(4/19)は夜中の3時まで起きていました…。笑
(4) I really enjoy getting together with the floormate on the same floor of the AP House and talking with them!
Yesterday (4/19) I was up until 3am..lol

さすが一年生…。しゅんすけは今年４回生になるけれど、夜中の3時は夢の中ですなぁ…。
Freshmen indeed... Shunsuke(Me) will be a 4th-year student this year, but I’m in my dream at 3 am.

3.シオンくん　1回生　APS / Shion/ 1st year/ APS

①ミャンマーで生まれ、日本へやってきてくれました！シオンくん！
日本語がすごい上手で、Beppaperメンバー英語に恐れていた中の救世主でした(泣)
シオンくんが選んでくれた言葉は「夢」でした！
(1) He was born in Myanmar and came to Japan! Mr. Shion!
He speaks very good Japanese and was a savior for the Beppaper members who were afraid of English…
The word he chose was "Dream"!

②人にとって夢はなければ何もできないな〜と思ったので、この字を選びました！
I chose this word because I thought that without dreams, nothing would be possible!

③2年生になったら、オーストラリアに行ってみたいと思います
3) I would like to go to Australia when I become a 2nd Year!

④大学に来る前にも日本に少しの間住んでいたけど、その時より今の生活が楽しい！
自分のやりたいことだったり行きたい場所にもいくことができるから充実している。
それから、別府の景色(APUからの景色)もすごく綺麗ですよね！
4) I lived in Japan for a short time before I came to the university, but I enjoy my life now more than I did then!
I can do what I want to do and go where I want to go, so it's fulfilling.
Also, the view of Beppu (from APU) is really beautiful!

さて、キラキラしている新入生の一ヶ月を聞いてみました！
いかがでしたか？
コロナウィルスが終息してきて、元の姿に戻りつつあるAPUも活気に溢れてきましたね〜
しゅんすけの場合、久しぶりの友達が多すぎて挨拶するべきか迷うことしかないんだけど、少しづつお友達を増やしていきたいな〜と改めて思いました！！
Well, we've heard about your month as a sparkling new student! How was it?
The COVID-19 has close to the end and APU is getting back to its former self, and it's starting to become more vibrant~!
In Shunsuke's case, there are so many friends I haven't seen in a while that all I can do is wonder if I should say “hello” to them, but once again, I want to make friends a little at a time!
