What is Ashtanga yoga system

The sequence (order and poses) of Ashtanga Yoga is divided into four main phases.

Phase 1 Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation )
in A and B. It's not just a warm-up exercise, it's the basis for all the poses you're going to put into practice from now.

Phase 2 Standing Pose.

Phase 3 Each pose of the 1st to 6th series
Only this layer has different content from each series.
For example, the first series is mainly forward bending and hip rotation.
In the second series, the first half is back bending. Each series has an individual feature.

Phase 4 Finishing Inversion (Inverted)
Upside-down poses with the head down followed by several poses in padma, and it is completed .

BASICALLY, in any series, starting with the Sun Salutation and then standing poses and finishing poses.

Phase 1, 2 and 4 are common.
Only the third phase part has different content similar to hamburger fillings.

As I wrote “BASICALLY”, it would be inconsistent with the theory in some cases.
For example, when you start practicing more than half of the poses of second series, you enter the second series from the middle of the standing pose.
So you don't do all of the standing poses.

And in the case of third series practice, once you start practicing more than half of the third series poses, you will enter the third series after Sun Salutation.
In other words, you don’t perform any standing poses.

Phase 4 finishing is common.

* There is no100% rigid rule for sequences after the fourth series.
There is also speculation.

And different teachers have different ideas and theories.
This is Ashtanga yoga, which I learn and practice from my teachers.
