【Day 394】

Finally, Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic was kicked off this morning.

We arrived at the venue before 7:30, but it’s packed with cars everywhere. So we had to park the car at 10 minutes walk away from there.

On the beach, we were surrounded by a lot of Brazilian supporters and Brazilian surfers were great in the water today. The voltage of the supporters was getting higher and higher as they performed amazingly.

However, most of the famous Brazilian surfers finished their heat, the supporters had gone quickly. It felt like a really Brazilian storm.

I suddenly realized that the word "Brazilian Storm" isn’t only for the Brazilian surfers, but also for their supporters.

Today was also a historical day for the Japanese because a Japanese girl, Tsuzuki Amuro became the first female surfer on the Championship Tour. Additionally, she went through finishing her heat in second place.

My highlight for the day was John John’s buzzer-beater in the heat 2. That game-winning backside air reverse was just amazing.

This was my first time to see CT surfers competing live, so I got excited.
