Swapping Boards

【Day 402】

I went to Palm Beach with Tokky this morning. It’s been a while since the last time we surfed together.

He told me that the waves were quite bigger than he thought yesterday, but the swell didn’t seem to remain today.

That being said, the waves were still waist to chest-high, so at least we could surf.

I felt I needed a bigger board today as it was hard to make turns with a shortboard on the waves.

So I asked Tokky to swap our boards.

He rode a mid-length single-fin board. It’s completely different from my performance shortboard. It’s pretty easy to catch waves but hard to control as it didn’t have side fins.

I was struggling with controlling it for a while but I never got used to it.

Anyway, I could catch more waves than usual, it’s pretty fun.

After the session, I became to want a new alternative board like mid-length or twin-fins.
