She Needs A Trigger

【Day 622】

My wife and I had a Zoom meeting with Mihaya's key teacher and EAL/D coordinator this morning.

We discussed Mihaya's language development. They said that Mihaya's reading and writing level is OK but her listening and speaking level isn’t enough to advance to Year 2, so it would be better to think about sending her to speaking therapy, and making a sort of family English speaking day as a routine at home.

What they told us wasn’t a shock for us because we knew Mihaya's English problem.

I had wished that the circumstances would have improved her English, but apparently, we should deal with it actively.

I felt she needs a trigger that makes her start speaking out loud. I wonder what’s that.

On the other hand, Minori went to her non-Japanese Friend’s house today. She seemed to be getting used to communicating in English.

I hope Mihaya also can get used to it soon.

In the evening, I went to Kmart to collect the electric air pump that I bought online last night.

I tried it as soon as getting back home, and the mattress got fully pumped up only in 3 minutes easily. There you go!
