Day 13

Hey everyone! This year Golden Week has been really relaxing for me and Kazuki. 
We didn't do anything in particular like going on vacation, so I don't have any interesting adventure to talk about today.

BUT!! I did make an interesting new friend the other day at Gusto.

I often like to go to Gusto to relax, read books or write Note articles. The workers there are always very polite and helpful, and it reminds me that Japanese hospitality is so impressive.

I ordered some lunch and I waited, expecting one of the usual staff members to bring me my food. (the usual = いつもの)

But then, I heard some strange music… and here he comes!

His name is Cat Robot! 

I couldn't help but laugh. Cat Robot comes to my table while playing music, and I take my lunch from the tray. After shouting "Thank you!" in a cute voice, he heads back to his station.

Thanks for the food!

An explanation of Cat Robot

I'm happy for Cat Robot for getting a great new job at Gusto! But also, I wonder what happened to the usual staff members…? 😂

Even after 4 years in Japan, things like this always seem to surprise me. 
It's not just that Japanese technology is impressive and innovative. But also, extra time and energy is spent to make the technology so cute.
※It's not just that〇〇 = 〇〇だけはなく

The food delivery robot could have been simple, but instead is was made as a cute cat! 

I think it's reflective of Japan's "kawaii" culture. People really love cute things in Japan! What do you think?
