Everything is transient

I removed the withered flowers from the vase this morning. My favorite flower is the tulip, with straight and strong stems that endure even as their petals begin to fade, and the color of their petals is literally divine. They symbolize spring just as beautiful as cherry blossoms do. I feel cherry blossoms are more transient. I just remember someone saying everything is transient.

I went to see the movie 'Perfect Days', directed by Wim Wenders and staring Yakusho Koji with my mom in March. 'There is no way nothing changes. That's absurd (何も変わらないなんて、そんな馬鹿なことあってたまるか)' is a saying in the movie. Even '木漏れ日 (the sunlight filtering through trees)' changes from moment to moment, depending on the wind, the flow of clouds and the sun's exposure. As the movie tells us, nothing remains the same.

Have a beautiful day.
