Discontinuation of Telephone Directories (Town Pages, etc.) and Directory Assistance (104 Service)

East Japan Telecommunications Corporation (hereinafter, NTT East) and West Japan Telecommunications Corporation (hereinafter, NTT West) have been providing telephone directories (Town Pages, etc.) and directory assistance (104 service) as means to look up phone numbers.

In recent years, with the spread of smartphones and the diversification of methods to search for phone numbers, the number of advertisements in Town Pages has decreased, and the use of directory assistance has also significantly declined. In light of this situation, and from the perspective of reducing paper resource consumption and environmental impact, we will discontinue the provision of telephone directories and directory assistance by the end of March 2026.

However, we will continue to provide the “Braille Telephone Directory,” which is issued to assist visually impaired individuals in their daily lives. Additionally, we will continue to offer the “Fureai Assistance,” a free service for people with disabilities to provide telephone number information.

After the discontinuation of NTT East and NTT West’s telephone directories and directory assistance, phone numbers can be searched on the internet using the i-Town Page provided by NTT Town Page Corporation (hereinafter, NTT Town Page).

Final Edition of Town Pages
The final edition of Town Pages will be provided as an internet-accessible Town Page (hereinafter, Town Page Web Edition) that includes all professions, and as a printed booklet (hereinafter, Town Page Booklet Edition) focusing on professions with high urgency and frequent use, from the perspective of reducing environmental impact. The Town Page Booklet Edition will be issued and distributed by region from January 2025 to March 2026.

Searching for Phone Numbers After Service Discontinuation
(1) The phone number information listed in Town Pages can be searched on the internet using the i-Town Page provided by NTT Town Page Corporation.
(2) The Town Page Information Sales Service will be provided as the i-Town Page Database, utilizing the data from the i-Town Page provided by NTT Town Page Corporation.
The i-Town Page will undergo a major renewal and enhancement this fall as a portal service for consumers to safely choose local businesses and as an information platform to solve community issues (i-Town Page Database).

東日本電信電話株式会社（以下、NTT東日本）および西日本電信電話株式会社（以下、NTT西日本）は、電話番号をお調べいただく手段として、電話帳（タウンページ等）および番号案内（104番）を提供してまいりました。
近年はスマートフォンの普及等に伴い電話番号検索方法が多様化したことで、タウンページへの広告掲載数が減少するとともに、番号案内の利用数も大幅に減少しております。このような状況を踏まえ、紙資源消費を削減し、環境負荷の低減を実現する観点からも2026年3月末をもって電話帳および番号案内の提供を終了いたします。
なお、目の不自由な方々に、暮らしのお役にたてていただくことを目的として発行しております「点字電話帳」については継続して提供いたします。また、障がいのある方を対象に無料で電話番号を案内する「ふれあい案内」についても提供を継続いたします。
NTT東日本・NTT西日本の電話帳および番号案内の終了後は、NTTタウンページ株式会社（以下、NTTタウンページ社）がインターネット上で提供するｉタウンページにて電話番号を検索いただくことが可能です。

タウンページ最終版について
最終版のタウンページは、環境負荷低減の観点から、すべての職種を掲載しインターネット上で閲覧可能なタウンページ（以下、タウンページWeb版）および、緊急性の高い職種やご利用機会の多い職種を中心に紙冊子として発行・配布するタウンページ（以下、タウンページ冊子版）として提供いたします。
タウンページ冊子版は2025年1月から2026年3月にかけて地域ごとに発行いたします。
サービス終了後の電話番号の検索について
(1)タウンページに掲載されている番号情報は、NTTタウンページ社が提供するｉタウンページ等でのインターネットによる検索が可能です。
(2)タウンページ情報販売サービスは、NTTタウンページ社が提供するｉタウンページのデータを利用したｉタウンページデータベースとしてご提供いたします。
ｉタウンページは、生活者が安心して地域の事業者を選ぶためのポータルサービスや地域社会の課題解決に資する情報基盤（ｉタウンページデータベース）として、今秋、大幅なリニューアル・充実化を行います。
