“hiroshimagraphy”
is the figure/symbol of the city of Hiroshima, Japan. it is designed by Michiaki Nishio (240design) in 2018, and selected in the exhibition Open Call for design Idea of “Hiroshima Brand” 2018 by Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art.

Hiroshima is a city of five islands floating in the flow of six rivers. Normally it is connected by many bridges, people are not so conscious about it, but it is also an identity hidden behind the city, often called the “city of the river”. This is the design of this identity spreading the image of the new Hiroshima to the world through people who live and visitors.

We designed the geographical features (6 rivers and 5 islands) of Hiroshima as simple geometric figures, and we produce “Hiroshima Puzzle” with wood from Hiroshima and you can make your paper puzzle by yourself from the data that you are able to download from the site.

Then you can play anytime, beyond time and place. You can take a picture of the shape and letters you made, then share it with the world with hashtag,

“ひろ島グラフィ”
は，広島市のかたちをデザインした図形です．広島市現代美術館現代美術館主催による ゲンビ「広島ブランド」デザイン公募２０１８にて入選したプロジェクト「ひろしまは島でできている」として発表されました．

ひろしまは島でできている．
６つの川の流れに浮かぶ５つの島でできた街，広島．たくさんの橋で繋がれていて，住んでいる人々はふだんあまり意識しないけど，それは「川の街」とよく呼ばれるこの街の裏側に隠されたアイデンティティです．

これは，その地理的な特徴をシンプルな幾何学図形に整えたものです．ひろしまをまるごとデザインとして捉えなおして，暮らす人や訪れてくれた訪問客を通して世界に新しい広島のイメージを発信するモノとコトのためのベース（基盤）となるデザインの試みです．

現在，広島産の木材を活用した「ひろ島パズル」をはじめ，フードや生活用品などを中心に地元企業等と共同開発が進行中．また，一般の人々が参加できるアート，ワークショップやデザイン活動等でも活用できるようオープンソースとして公開します．

この図形で，アルファベットと数字，いくつかのひらがなやカタカナ，漢字などの文字をはじめ，パズルとして自由にかたちをつくることができます．そして，そのかたちをSNS でシェアすることで，世界中の仲間が作った作品を見ることが出来ます．

このように，世界中の人が時間と場所を超えてこのプロジェクトを通して広島に思いを馳せることで，広島の歴史や風景の美しさについて知り，学ぶ機会を提供できればと思います．
