#16 Doing some soul-searching

Q16: How do I manage my time effectively?

A.:Strictly speaking, I’m not very efficient at time management.  
　However, since becoming a mother, managing time has become essential to balance work, parenting, and household chores. With only 24 hours in a day, I start by waking up at 4:30 AM to work before doing housework and then heading to my job. During the day, I give 120% effort at work. After returning home, I focus on spending quality time with my children. In the evening, once the household chores are done, I make time for learning by participating in online courses.

　とにかく、子どもを産んでからは、時間のマネージメントが厳しくなりました。
　自分の時間を捻出するには、睡眠しか削れないのが現実。仕事が大好きな私は、ついつい授業準備をすると夢中になり、寝るのを忘れる。でもあまりやりすぎると喘息になるから気をつけないと。子どもたちが成長するとともに楽にはなるけれど、子どもたちのライフステージに応じて悩みは尽きないし、転勤族の夫は4年ごとに単身赴任と東京を繰り返すのでワンオペになるし、私の宿泊出張や、今回のような全国大会引率時は、母の手を借りている。いまだに母の手を借りないと子育てできないのはなんとも情けないのですが、まだまだ母の手を借りないとタイムマネージメントがままなりません。
　老人の母のコキを使う娘で良いのだろうか？
