しかし、わたしたちの国籍は天にある。
そこから、救主、主イエス・キリストのこられるのを、わたしたちは待ち望んでいる。

信仰者は、天にある国籍を自覚した生き方を追求して生活します。
Believers live their lives in pursuit of a way of life that is aware of their heavenly nationality.

この聖句は、私たち信仰者に天における国籍を持つ自覚を与え、救い主イエス・キリストの再臨を待ち望む希望を与えてくれます。この希望に基づき、天国にふさわしい生き方を追求することが、私たちの信仰生活において最も重要です。
1. 天にある国籍を持つ自覚を持つ
私たちが地上の一時的な滞在者であり、真の故郷は天にあることを意味します。
地上の苦難や試練に直面しても、天における永遠の命に目を向けることができ、希望を持ち続けることができます。また地上の価値観や権威に惑わされることなく、神の国の価値観に基づいた生き方を追求することができます。そして地上の利己的な欲望に囚われることなく、神の愛と恵みに基づいた行動を取ることができます。
2. 救い主イエス・キリストの再臨を待ち望む
私たちは、イエス・キリストとの再会への期待を持ち、信仰生活に励み続けることができます。また神の完全な支配が実現する未来への希望を持ち、積極的に社会に貢献することができます。そして現世の苦難や罪悪から解放され、永遠の命に与ることへの確信を持つことができます。
3. 天国にふさわしい生き方を追求する
私たちは天国にふさわしい生き方を追求する必要があります。それで神の言葉を学び、みこころに沿った生活を送るように努めます。また隣人を愛し、困っている人を助けるように努めます。そして罪を悔い改め、聖霊の導きに従って生きるように努めます。
私は、天における国籍を持つ自覚を与え、救い主イエス・キリストの再臨を待ち望む希望をもって、天国にふさわしい生き方ができるようにと祈ります。
  
This passage of Scripture gives us, the faithful, a sense of our nationality in heaven and the hope of looking forward to the second coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Based on this hope, it is of paramount importance in our life of faith that we pursue a life worthy of heaven.
1. Awareness of our heavenly nationality.
It means that we are temporary sojourners on earth and that our true home is in heaven.
In the face of earthly hardships and trials, we can look to eternal life in heaven and keep hope alive. They can also pursue a way of life based on the values of the Kingdom of God, without being misled by earthly values and authority. And they can act on the basis of God's love and grace, not on earthly selfish desires.
2. look forward to the second coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ
We can continue to live out our faith with the expectation of a reunion with Jesus Christ. We can also have hope for a future in which God's perfect reign will be realised and we can actively contribute to society. We can have confidence that we will be freed from the hardships and guilt of this life and that we will be granted eternal life.
3. we pursue a heavenly way of life
We need to pursue a way of life that is fit for heaven. So we study God's word and strive to live according to his will. We should also try to love our neighbours and help those in need. And we repent of our sins and strive to live according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that I may live a life worthy of heaven, giving me an awareness of my nationality in heaven, and with the hope of looking forward to the second coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
